The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter novel Chapter 731

Chapter 731: ENDLESS WINTER

Now things had escalated like this, Cane didn’t have time for a long- winded conversation. What Aliana said bothered him and he wanted to know the truth.

"Cane! Clear your mind! What do you want to do with me?!" Lou immediately opened the window, he was about to escape when he was being dragged back into the room by his legs and to his dread, he saw that black wisp wrapped around his ankle and another black wisp wrapped around his wrist, pulled his body into a starfish position. "Cane! Are you really going to do this?! I will tell Iris if you touched me."

Cane furrowed his brows, he didn’t have the energy to deal with his bullshit.

"Cane! No! No! Don’t do this! Come back to your sense!" Lou was being loud and noisy, in which Jace, who was outside frowning, but he didn’t want to intervene, since Cane didn’t call him into the room. "Are you crazy!? Let me go!"

Lou became even more frantic when his mouth was being muffled by the same black wisp and he could feel the fabric of his clothes on his back was being torn, while his body was turned, so his back was facing Cane.

The alpha moved closer and then saw what Aliana meant. He had seen this crest before and this crest could only be seen on the five Holy Knights of the Serafim’s sword and yet the same symbol was on Lou’s back. It was not like a tattoo, but like a birthmark.

"Don’t scream. I want to ask you something," Cane said and he only let go of the black wisp on Lou’s mouth when he nodded.

"Cane! How dare you treating me like this!"

"Don’t scream." Cane reminded him again.

Lou growled, but he bit his tongue, stopping himself from cursing him out loud. "Let me go!"

"Tell me what is this?"

"’What is this’ what? I don’t understand what you meant." Lou tried to look at Cane, as he was standing a step away from him, staring at his back, which gave him chill. He felt this goosebumps to be stared at with such intensity by man, he wouldn’t mind it if it was Iris, though...

"You have birthmark on your back."

"Oh." Lou frowned. "Yeah, I think I did."

"You know the shape of it?"

"I like to see my face on the mirror, not my back." Lou didn’t care much about his back, he knew he had birthmark, all the women that he bedded told him that, but he didn’t really pay attention to it.

Cane released Lou and he fell to the floor with a thud. The merchant grunted and rubbed his butt.

"Thank you for freeing me," he said sarcastically. "What the hell with my birthmark? How do you know about it?" his first thought was Nala who had told Cane, knowing how infatuated that woman was with him, she supposed to gather information for him, yet she did otherwise? But then Lou remembered the two of them had not yet met for long time.

Lou stood up and faced Cane when he answered him.

"Your birthmark is the same shape like the crest on the Serafim’s knights’ sword."

"Really?" Lou stood up and went to look at his back on the mirror, but after saying that, Cane carried his baby and walked out of the room.

"We need to go in an hour, prepared yourself," Cane said, as he left.

Meanwhile, Lou was still trying to look at his back on the mirror, as he replied casually. "Yes, yes, yes..." he didn’t even realize the alpha used the same tone like when he ordered one of his warriors and Lou seemed to get used with it.

When Cane came out of the room, Zale and Ezra had been waiting for him. No, it was actually the former, since the latter was still afraid to be near him. freeωebnovēl.c૦m

"Alpha, my condolence for your lost," Zale said. He stared at the baby in Cane’s arms.

"Be ready, we will leave in an hour." Cane went ahead to go to his bedroom with Iris.

"Alpha, can I meet with luna?" Zale asked, while Ezra perked up, he was still holding onto Lil Thing, who had not yet woken up, still sleeping peacefully. The creature didn’t seem to notice Ezra had been cradling it for days now.

"She is sleeping, you can meet with her later." And with that, Cane closed the door.

An hour later, they were ready to leave for the Howling Wolf pack. Everything went too fast, thus the news about Iris’s early labor and the death of one of the babies had not yet reached the Howling Wolf pack.

Iris insisted to carry Rora, while Cane carried Crystal, the baby still very heavy in his arms, it felt like he could drop to his knees, every time he took a step forward.

"Luna, can I see the baby?" Ezra asked timidly, hiding behind Zale’s back. His limpid eyes stared at Iris expectantly.
