"There is no way the baby can shift," Abby said, her mind was racing with her heart, she couldn’t think clearly and her heart now was pounding against her ears.
"If you have not yet noticed it, I can’t shift too, Abby." Iris pointed this fact out, in which Abby forgot.
Abby shook her head, she tried to compose herself, but failed. "I heard about the golden eyes of the king’s bloodline and I know your babies had golden eyes, how can you pass that?"
"There is no need for everyone to see the baby, once the baby was more than a week old and the golden eyes faded, no one could tell." Iris had the answer for every doubt Abby had for this suggestion.
Cane had talked about this, even though it was only a brief conversation, but he also suggested to raise a child to be an heir and now Abby’s baby would be a great opportunity. With how similar Iris and her was, no one would question the baby and more importantly, no one would challenge him for not having an heir from his flesh and blood, since this matter could be a huge problem in the future.
Cane himself agreed with this idea when Iris came with this suggestion. He didn’t have any repudiation on it, if this was what Iris wanted, but he warned her about Abby’s rejection.
For Iris, it didn’t matter, the final decision was still on Abby. She only wished they could find a better solution for this.
"You want to take my baby because you lost yours?!" Abby was getting emotional, she didn’t know what the right reaction to respond to Iris’s suggestion and she said the thing that she shouldn’t, in which she immediately apologized, knowing her error. "I am sorry, I didn’t mean to say that."
Iris took a deep breath to calm herself down. She could control her emotion better now. What Abby said was hurt, but she could sympathize with her circumstance.
"I suggested this not with the intention to take a baby away from their mother. That’s a cruel act. My suggestion stands for giving the baby a chance to live, if it’s possible." Iris stood up. She rapped her finger on the little bottle, she showed Abby before, which filled with the abortion potion. "There is nothing, absolutely nothing, can replace my babies." She caressed Abby’s shoulder. "Think about this."
After saying that, Iris walked out of the room, she felt a little bit suffocated, but after she composed herself, she felt better and all she wanted was to find Cane.
"What happened?" Cedric asked, he glanced at Iris and then at the closed door behind her, where you could hear Abby sobbed softly.
"You can come inside, we have done talking," Iris said and then went to look for Cane. She wanted to be consoled by him.
But, on her way to find Cane, she met with a little boy, she had not yet seen for a while. The young boy was talking to Zale, as Lil Thing was laying lazily on Zale’s feet.
The poor bear lost one its ear and every time Iris saw it, she felt so bad.
"Luna Iris!" the little boy, who was talking with Zale saw Iris and rushed toward her. His face lit up, but Zale was not really happy. "I have been wanting to see you!" he said.
Iris recognized this young boy. Of course, she knew him. Even though she didn’t stay for long in this pack in the past, but this little boy was always on the back of her mind.
"How are you, Nolu?" Iris asked with a beautiful smile.
"You remembered me!" Nolu squealed in delight when the luna remembered his name. He didn’t expect this at all, he then turned around and then looked at Zale. "See? I told you that the luna will remember me!"
Zale scoffed, he didn’t like it, but he said nothing and focused on Lil Thing instead.
"How are you, Nolu?" Iris repeated her question. She stretched out her hand to pick a leaf from his head.
"I am fine, luna!" Nolu replied with excitement. "You are here again! You comeback!"
"Yes, I do." Iris liked to see this little boy smiled and then fished out a candy from her pocket, which she got from Grace and then gave it to him.
"Thank you, luna!" Nolu beamed with happiness.
"I want candy too, luna!" Zale said, he hastily approached Iris and Lil Thing followed, the big bear nuzzled at her hand, asking to be scratched.
Iris gave a candy to Zale and then scratch Lil Thing.
"I have not seen you in the pack house, where have you been?" Iris asked Nolu. The little boy and his mother supposed to live in the pack house, but after a few weeks she was here, she had not yet seen him.
"My mother and I have been living outside of the pack house luna, because after you and all the people left, the Silver Warrior ran rampant and threatened us to leave the pack house. So, mother took me out of the pack house." Nolu then added. "They only left this pack when alpha Derick took over it and used this place as his and his warriors’ base."
They didn’t meet before when Iris distributed food because when Nolu and his mother arrived, she already left and Aliana was the one, whom they met.
Iris was surprised this little boy, who looked like the age of seven or eight years old, was having this high awareness of his surroundings and knew what was going on.
"Where are you going, luna?" Nolu asked. "I will escort you." He took a step in front of Zale.
