The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter novel Chapter 85

Chapter 85: THE STORM

"What do you mean they don’t know?" Cane frowned.

Apparently, among the goblins, there was another creature, as small as them, mixed in the battle and that creature was poisonous.

However, because none of the healers knew about this unknown creature, they didn’t know how to detox its venom.

Their healing ability could heal external injuries, but detoxifying poison was another problem entirely.

"I need to bring her to the infirmary, Grace said I need to get Seluba leaves to get rid of the venom, though she is not sure if it can help." Stone blanched when his daughter’s body became so cold. His words became incoherent.

It was his fault for taking his eyes off her. He shouldn’t have left her alone inside their shabby carriage.

"You can’t go in the storm," Cane said in a matter of fact tone. "Both of you will die instead if you lose direction."

"But..." Stone was visibly frustrated, he hugged Ania closer to him and caressed her back as the little girl whimpered.

It was not that he didn’t know about that. He wouldn’t make it if he insisted on going, but he didn’t have any other choice.

Right at that time, Ethan came to Cane and told him they found three spots that they could use as shelters until the storm passed.

"Call Ardand to see me," Cane said and then he looked at Stone. "You, follow me."

Cane didn’t doubt Grace’s ability as a healer, but Ardand had more experience than her, thus it was always advisable to get a second opinion.

Stone was torn, but in the end, he followed the alpha, along with Iris and the others.

One of the shelters that Ethan found was a spot in the middle of huge rocks, which could shield them from the brutal wind and dust that could suffocate them. Though it didn’t offer them a roof to take cover from rain, it was better than nothing. freeωebnovēl.c૦m

There were around two hundred people crammed in this place, while the rest of the entourage took the other two shelters, which were bigger than the one that was found by Jace.

All of them had to leave the carriages that had their belongings behind, not even the alpha, the luna and the mistress were expections, while the guards led the horses to take shelter as well.

"How is she?" Cane asked Ardand, as he examined the little girl, who laid on the cold ground. They couldn’t set up a tent in this space, while rain was still pouring down from the dark sky.

It was so dark and cold, Iris sat so close to Hanna. Her body was trembling, as she watched Ania having a hard time breathing. She was whimpering in pain. Iris tried to open her eyes wide to read what Ardand was saying, because she was sitting a little bit away from them.
