"Lu..." Iris was being very patient with this lycan. "Be good and listen to me, okay? Or, I will not speak to you again." Iris grabbed both of his hands and kissed his knuckles. "We need them. This is not over yet. I don’t want you to be in danger anymore and we need more people to fight for us."
Lu pouted his lips. He stared into Iris’s blue eyes, it pained him to realize Na was gone. Her soul was gone. Her life essence had merged completely with Iris and they had become one and now Lu was left behind again, keeping his promise to Na for helping Iris to destroy Decratic.
He couldn’t disappear yet because the sixth sword was within him and that sword and Iris were the closest thing to her...
"I want a hug," Lu sulked.
"Of course." Iris was more than willing to give the lycan a warm hug and he buried his face against the crook of her shoulder, closing his eyes to savor her sweet scent. freewёbnoνel.com
Lu had waited Na for five centuries only to have a brief moment with her, but he was willing to wait for more centuries to have that short precious moment again, even if it was only a remnant of her.
They stayed like that for almost half an hour because Lu refused to let Iris go. The lycan became exceptionally quiet during this time and he didn’t even mention anything about sex, neither he initiated it like he used to.
It was only an innocent moment between them and somehow, Iris could feel his... sadness? She might think too much about it.
When they finally left the room, the sun had set and all the preparation had been made. Ethan and Jace were there, so did the previous alpha, Derick and the current alpha of the Celestial Moon pack, Cezi, along with their warriors.
Iris couldn’t see Abby or Liam and Cedric, but she saw the three elders, they stood at the sideline and their eyes fixed on Cane. All the people there must know that it was the lycan, since his red eyes gave away his presence.
The elders didn’t seem happy to see the lycan, since they still had this mindset to get rid of the cursed creature, but the situation was rather complicated for them to pursue this matter.
"Are you sure, it’s alright to let him do this?" Ethan asked Iris in low voice, as he escorted them to the center table.
Right now, they were in the open area, in front of the pack house, since they needed spacious space to accommodate thousand of Celestial Moon pack’s warriors.
"Do you have a problem with me?" Lu glanced viciously at the gamma, he had been in a bad mood. If he could choose, he didn’t even want to be in this place, surrounded by the people he didn’t like. The only person he liked was only Iris and he tolerated this discomfort for her sake.
"No, of course not!" Ethan raised both of his hands and smiled brilliantly, trying to sweet talk his way out. "I only worried because this little ceremony might bore you, more so they are not important people to be graced by your presence!"
Iris was speechless when she heard that. She wanted to role her eyes so hard, even more with Lu’s respond.
"Hm, you are right." Lu nodded, agreed with Ethan. "I like this shifter." If there was someone else that Lu considered to like, it would be this gamma.
"Of course! Everyone likes me!" Ethan looked so proud of himself and Jace slapped his head for grinning like a fool, but Lu growled at the beta.
"Don’t you dare to hit him again!" Lu grunted viciously at Jace. Thankfully, Iris immediately tugged Lu’s hand and walked faster before he caused trouble.
On the other hand, Ethan wanted to laugh his butt off to see the look on Jace’s face, but he restrained himself, or else the gamma would beat him to pulp. After all, the lycan wouldn’t be around all the time.
There was nothing special about this little ceremony, as they kept it precise and simple. On the table, there was this Vessel Bond, where two people would over their blood to bind them into a pact. This commonly used for those who would pledge their loyalty.
The vessel bond was like a small basin with a croak in the middle of it. The intricated words around it made of golden.
This little ceremony was what Iris and Redmond had gone through over a year ago and this time, Cezi and his warriors would do it to Cane.
Alpha Derick and Cezi looked at each other when they realized it was the lycan they were facing, not Cane. It was hard to comprehend about the lycan’s existence within Cane’s body, yet they tried to unlearn about the information that put the lycan into a bad light, since this creature looked harmless enough to stand quietly next to luna Iris.
