The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter novel Chapter 872

Chapter 872: THE RIFT BETWEEN THEM

The fear she held in her heart spread around like a disease, burning every part of her and the past traumas crept in to destroy everything you she had built.

Iris felt sick. She was fine all this time and it could be said she didn’t have morning sickness, neither she was having trouble to eat, but right now, everything was hurt.

It was a misery when you have to feel the winter again after embracing the warmth of the summer. It was tragic when you felt you have known everything about your mate and even walked in their shoes, thinking that you would become strong together, only to be thrown back to zero.

Iris felt so weak and she kept throwing up. She thought she grew stronger, but Cane’s rejection hurt her so much, even though she understood with his reaction, but with him not come to see her for two days straight, it was simply cruel.

Ethan and Aliana would come to inform her what the alpha was up to and what he was doing right now, but Iris didn’t want to hear what he was doing from other people, she used to Cane, who told her everything. He used to tell her what his next move, that was why she could keep them in the right direction in his absence.

It was only two days, but it felt like eternity. A second past very slow.

"Luna, don’t think too much about this, you will hurt yourself," Aliana said, she wiped her mouth and helped her to lay down on the bed again after she kept throwing up this whole morning. It was the third day since the day Iris told them about her pregnancy.

Right now, aside from Grace, it was only Ethan and Aliana, who was told about this pregnancy.

Iris curled herself inside the bed, she had not yet come out for days now and because the alpha was already here, thus no one would bother her about making decision on something, mostly they would ask why the luna was not around. The answer for that was; Iris was sick and she needed time to rest. It made sense and they would stop asking further.

That was not wrong, but it was more than that.

"Did he still refuse to see me?" Iris asked weakly. She wanted to go and see him, but Cane knew how to avoid her. More so, Ethan had been suggested for her to give him some space and he would be the one, who talked to him.

It was not that Iris didn’t believe the gamma, but it had been three days and she knew how Cane was. No amount of persuasion would change his decision if he had decided on something.

The only change here was; her five warriors littered around the carriage, Iris even could see Lil Thing and Zale often hang around with the five warriors from the window of the carriage. They could sense something was wrong, but they were not dare enough to poke their nose inside their alpha and their luna’s business.

"It’s not that the alpha refused to see you, luna." Grace grimaced, she knew she had overused this excuse so much. "He will come around eventually. He still cares about you and you know how bad he was to express his feeling. Let him sort it out and he will come to see you."

Iris closed her eyes, too tired to give any reaction.

This feeling was bad. But not only for her, but for the entirety of the situation. Iris’s condition affected their situation in a way that they should have predicted.

The magic users had used all of their magic stone, but drew zero result, even Elder Rose had exhausted herself by using all of her power to summon the Sylph, yet it still was not enough.

"Somehow the shield around the pack became stronger." One of the magic users frowned when she said this, because that was what she felt. The magic around the protection not only did not break, but it grew stronger.

"What happened? How could that possible?" Elder Dandolf looked restless, he rarely talked and showed emotions, but he had been very agitated because they were stuck in this situation. He kept glancing at Cane, but the alpha showed no interest.

"This must be because Decratic has started to gather his power. That’s why the black magic around the protection also grows stronger." Elder Rose’s suggestion made sense and they believed that was the case.

Right now, they were inside the big tent, where all the elders, a few magic users, Abby and Ethan and of course, Cane, gathered together to discuss this issue.

Elder Xarex cleared his throat. "In this case, we need your luna. I am sure she can do something about this." He looked at Cane, voicing out what Elder Dandolf wanted to say, but he was rewarded with a sharp glare from the alpha.

"Or maybe, the people from the Holy Kingdom are simply very weak." His statement caused more tension inside the tent. "I thought you take care of everything related to magic. If you couldn’t even handle this, what is the point of having the Holy Kingdom people here?" Cane’s tone was sharp, it left no room for discussion. His stand was very clear; Did not ever think to involve Iris in this matter.

The way Cane said it and how he showed his stand was very clear, coupled with his intimidation nature, no one could refute him, he suppressed them in a way no one could, leaving them speechless.
