The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter novel Chapter 944

Chapter 944: THE FINAL BATTLE (10)

Lou got a backlash when he killed Osana. He could feel how his energy ran wildly within his body and even though he didn’t show it, but he was not in the condition, where he could use his magic freely, let alone to create a massive protection shield for all of them for a long time.

With his current condition, he wouldn’t be able to pull it through.

"Lou, they are coming," Ethan said. His eyes fixed at the flock of crows that came toward their direction. "Lou, why didn’t you put up the shield yet?"

"I can’t."

"You have the magic stones with you, no?" Redmond came over. He pointed at the three magic stones between his fingers. "What do you mean you can’t?"

Lou scratched his head and he ordered for the remaining eleven magic users to gather around him. They were not trained magic users. If anything, their skill mostly only average, which wouldn’t be enough to put up the protection shield for long.

More so, three fire magic stones wouldn’t last for long too if they had to put up the shield in an uncertain duration of time.

Lou then explained of his backlash and why it wouldn’t work.

"You have at least an hour to go as far as you can and find a shelter. I can only hold it that long." Lou glanced at the crows that were getting closer to them. He cursed under his breath again. He didn’t believe it, it would be the end of him. Life was suck.

"I don’t want to do it!" One of the magic users protested. He shook his head. "I will not stay!"

"If we have to stay behind, it meant we are going to die once we ran out of power? No! I don’t want to do it!" The other chimed and soon after the rest of the magic users refused to do it and a second later, there was this argumentation between the magic users and the merchant, the warriors also voiced out what they were thinking.

"Enough!" Lou said. The sound of their bickering was hurting his ears. Their point of contention for not wanting to stay was because they were going to die if they stayed to put up the protection shield. "All of you go! I will stay!"

"What? Are you crazy? Is that suicide?" Ethan threw back the red cloak that Lou lent it to him.

"I told you to wash it first before you returned it." Lou didn’t look happy to see his dirty, red cloak.

"The fuck with the cloak, Lou! Are you going to die?"

Lou waved his hands nonchalantly. "Don’t think too much. Do you think I am generous enough to die for all of you? You overvalued yourself."

Ethan was annoyed by this merchant, yet he couldn’t help, but worried. "How do you plan to fight those crows?"

"Well. I have my own way. I am a magic user. I know something that you don’t."

"I thought you are a merchant." Ethan referred to the way Lou called himself less than an hour ago.

Some of them argued that Lou had to go with them after creating a wall of protection, but Lou told them that was not how it worked, because if he was away from the shield he created, it would weaken the shield and in his current condition, it became even more impossible.

"Go. Go. Shoo. Shoo." Lou waved his hand impatiently. "You are wasting your time and my energy." And after that, Lou took a deep breath and created a wall of protection, which prevented the crows from going through. "GO NOW!"

Couldn’t argue with him anymore and because the situation was critical, they didn’t have any other choice, but to leave Lou there.

Ethan took the red cloak that he threw earlier and helped Aliana to runaway from that place.

The roars of monsters and the sound of when the crows made a collision against the protection walls was rather scary. Soon, you would be able to see how many the crows were.

Thousand? Million? There were a lot of them and their number only kept increasing, as they emerged from the fissure just like the other monsters.

Seeing the gravity of the situation, all of them started to move, leaving Lou alone to hold back the crows for them.

When Lou thought, he was alone, he felt something nudged his back and when he glanced to his left side, he saw the lazy bear was sitting there. Lil Thing blinked its eyes innocently before it decided to sprawl on the ground.

"What are you doing here?" Lou narrowed his eyes. "Go. You will be killed if you stayed with me."

Yet, Lil Thing yawned and wiggled its body, seemingly didn’t listen to what Lou told it to do. The merchant wanted it to go with the other warriors, but the white bear didn’t listen. It stayed there with him.

"Well, thank you for the company then," Lou finally said, tired to shoo this bear away, but it didn’t budge an inch. "I will treat you something nice if we can survive this. How it sounds?"

Lil Think only blinked its emerald eyes and continued to become lazy.

"Well, at least I am not alone." Lou lifted his head and watched how the crows had covered the whole wall of protection that he created.

Once it broke, Lou wondered if he would feel the pain when they tore his body apart. He only hoped it wouldn’t be too painful. He hated to be in pain. He recalled the core memory when he was little, watching his mother was being burned because she was a witch.
