At first, it was Leane and then Mason, but then Gerald appeared and all the alphas that Cane had killed. They surrounded him. overwhelmed him with the reminders of what they had done to him.
And suddenly, his surroundings changed. The fire that he saw, dimmed. Mason, Gerald and all the alpha had disappeared, leaving him alone and Cane found himself was laying down on the bed. The warm sunlight filtered through the window, while the bird chirping.
In the distance, he could hear the sound of children laughing, he was very familiar with one of them, he recognized her distinctive laughter. It was Rora. It had been so long, since the last time he heard her laughter.
Cane opened his eyes, he frowned when he figured out he was in his own bedroom. The ceiling looked familiar, so did everything around him.
It was surreal, but more importantly was the woman, who slept next to him. Leane. She rested her head against his chest, cuddling with him like she used to. Her warm and the weight of her body were too real to say this was an illusion.
"What is this?" Cane moved her body away from him, but it stirred her awake.
"Good morning," Leane said sleepily. She yawned and hugged him again. "How was your sleep?" She asked with her melodic voice.
And right at that time, someone knocked on the door, Aria’s voice could be heard along with a crying baby.
With the sound of that, Leane immediately jumped off the bed and went to open the door. She returned with a baby in her arms.
"Oh, poor little one, you must be very hungry..." Leane cooed the baby, she sat down again next to Cane and only then he could see the baby.
The baby had Leane’s facial features, but he had his black hair with a pair of clear golden eyes. His face was ruddy and he clasp his fists tightly around Leane’s fingers.
Cane had never really seen his son. The only memory he had of him was when they gutted him out of Leane’s stomach.
But... what happened now?
Cane watched dumbfoundedly when Leane started breastfeeding their son, singing to him and told Cane to stop making such scary face.
Meanwhile, Aria came into the room, bringing their breakfast and teasing the baby before she politely resigned herself. She was very polite, not even once she looked at Cane’s direction. frёeωebɳovel.com
Shortly, there was another commotion when the twin entered the room, bickering about who was going to hold the baby first and Leane reprimanded them to clean themselves first before coming near the baby.
This... didn’t make sense, but... it was very peaceful, something that Cane craved for a long time. His family was here. This was how his life if the attack from Blue Moon pack had never happened.
However, there was something wrong, as if he had forgotten something, but what?
============================
"You are heavy, you know..." Lou complained, he felt like he was going to die because of this Lazy bear. He was grateful that Lil Thing managed to find them a small cave, a niche, under the cliff for them to take shelter from the lethal blinding light that came out of nowhere.
This white bear actually sat on there, scaring the crows that tried to take shelter too, but the problem was, because the niche was too small and its attempt to protect Lou, Lil Thing actually sat on him and the poor merchant felt like he was going to die because of this silly bear.
"Lil Thing! You are not small!" Lou complained. He tried to push him, but Lil Thing wriggled its butt and Lou felt like this creature broke a few bones in his body. "Damn it. Are you going to kill me, or what?"
After the struggled, Lou actually passed out. He was too tired and the backlash along with his attempt to create the wall of protection in order to keep the crows away, left him very spent.
In his in and out consciousness, Lou heard a few people talked at the same time and someone dragged and lifted his body up. He wanted to see, who had treated him so poorly, but he was too tired to do anything and chose to fall asleep again after a few attempts to see his surroundings.
Not long after, he was awaken when he felt something wet, rough and warm on his cheek, he frowned and when he finally opened his eyes, he saw Lil Thing was actually licking his face.
"Ugh..." Lou groaned. He pushed Lil Thing’s muzzle away from his face. "Enough... enough... I am awake..."
His face was drenched by Lil Thing’s saliva and the lazy bear placed its big head on his chest when it saw he had regained his consciousness.
"I think you don’t need water anymore seeing how wet you are," Redmond commented.
Lou couldn’t see where he was, but he knew he was inside this tent. "That’s how you treated your savior?" He asked begrudgingly and felt someone wiped his face. He thought it was Redmond, but to his surprised, it was Nala and the second person in this tent that he recognized was Sabian. The old man looked worried for his master. "What they are doing here?"
"We are back to Golden Light pack and the former alpha Derick brought the warriors here." Redmond came to his line of sight and started to fill him with what had happened when he lost his consciousness.
"Can’t you spare me some time? I literally just woke up a second ago," Lou grumbled. He felt his head was spinning when he listened to Redmond’s explanation of their current situation.
From what Redmond explained to him, Lou had lost his consciousness for three days straight and the former alpha Derick came yesterday with Nala and Sabian too.
The alpha actually managed to make the royal warriors that they captured during their battle, pledged their loyalty to him. It was a good news, since they were in dire need for a back up.
During this time, they also tried to figure out what happened in the Red Claw pack, but there was this red smoke from the poisonous miasma that prevented them from venturing inside the pack. Even though, there was no more monsters that emerged from there, they couldn’t find a way to know what happened to Cane and Iris.
