Chapter 114: Beat The Noble

Oriana was lost.

She continued to walk through the dimly lit hallways, but after avoiding a couple of patrolling guards, she realized that she could no longer hear the music from the ballroom. What confused her even more was that she could not find the parlors or even backtrack where she came from.

’What the hell? I think I passed this same hallway twice already. This place isn’t even as big as the Palace of Thistle,’ she could not help but grumble. ’How can I go back now? Will I be punished severely to get caught like this and they might think I am a spy?’

The more she imagined the punishment that awaited her, the greater her panic was.

The corridors on this side of the mansion were fairly quiet, and only the sounds of her footsteps could be barely heard over her beating heart. It was easy for her to hide herself—no, in fact, there was no need to hide because there was not a single soul in sight.

’There are no signs of guests around. That means, this is highly likely the private quarters of the Milton Family. How do I head back...?’

"Let me go...please..."

She heard a muffling sound, along with a woman’s plea from somewhere, and her entire body went alert.

’What was that? A voice? Did I hear it wrong?’

"Please! I beg you, Young Master Milton...Let me go...No!"

"You dare say no to me, you lowly woman? Hah. If not for my family, your family would have been on the streets—"

"I am getting married soon! Please do not do this—"

"The more reason for you to offer yourself to me before being defiled by someone else."

"No! Please! Let me go!"

"You should consider yourself fortunate that I am the one you are going to give yourself first..."

The sounds of a resounding slap echoed, followed by a woman’s cry and a man’s mocking laughter.

Oriana clenched her fists, and before she knew it, she was already running towards the source of the distressing sounds. Not thinking twice about the consequences, she pushed open the door where she found a nobleman hovering over a crying woman, her clothes messed up and her body pinned under him.

It was as if something snapped within Oriana’s mind.

Hearing the sound of the door opening, the man turned his face to look at her.

"Let her go!" Oriana shouted.

The man glared at her when he realized it was a mere servant. "Get out of here."

"Only if you let go of her," Oriana countered.

The man scowled, his temper rising after his entertainment was disturbed. "You lowly servant, you are asking for death."

Oriana was equally angry to see that woman helplessly crying under him. She didn’t budge despite the threat. "Do you not know what consent is, you pig? I said, let her go or else..."

"Or what?" The man pushed the woman back to the bed. "Do not dare run away or you know what I can do to you and your family."
