It was a chaotic battle, where their combat strength was outnumbered by the enemies. On Oriana’s side, there was one elf and two knights, with Yorian being the only one who could fight using magic. On the other hand, there were five wizards, all of them capable of casting destructive ranged attacks.
With a flurry of incantations, the wizards unleashed a barrage of dark spells upon the knights. Slayer was unaffected, but Rafal was struggling. Yorian had his hands full protecting Oriana, Seren and Xena. Oriana wanted to join in, but she had no weapon on hand, not to mention she had not learned how to control her powers.
Slam!
"Sir Ahren!" Oriana screamed. A spell came towards him, hitting his body and causing him to crash against the wall of the temple. A pool of blood immediately formed under his limp body.
Rafal was a human, and even though he was an elite knight, it was impossible for him to deal with a magic user, much less one who specialized in combat. Seeing the wizard going after him as if with the intention to kill, Oriana wanted to head towards him, but Seren stopped her.
The Queen of Megaris ordered the young attendant and her lady-in-waiting. "You two, get away from here. Try to run outside and hide yourselves. These people came for me. They won’t harm you as long as you are not with me."
Not only Xena, even Oriana shook her head. She was not someone who would run away and abandon her comrades.
Oriana pulled her towards the statue, intending to go around it. "Please come with us, Your Majesty!"
One of the wizards was being hindered by Slayer, while Yorian had his hands full with three of them. The last one who dealt with Rafal turned towards them upon hearing Oriana’s voice. Just as he raised his staff, aiming to send a blast towards the group of women—
Oriana’s hazel eyes flashed.
Whoosh!
There was a loud outburst of power, and everything inside the temple was shaken. A small tornado appeared inside the grand hall, causing everyone’s body to lose their balance.
At the center of the fierce whirlwind was the group of women— to be more precise, it was Oriana. Her body was emitting a strong fluctuation of power as she stood in front, protecting Seren and Xena. The wizard targeting them was thrown away, and the giant statue and part of the temple began to show signs of breakage, the ancient architecture seemingly unable to withstand that power. freёwebnoѵel.com
If the ceiling of such a large stone temple were to cave in on them, forget about getting trapped, their bodies would be crushed to smithereens.
The enemy wizards found this chance to run away. Yorian took the unconscious Rafal, while Slayer assisted the three women towards the exit.
The moment Oriana stepped out of the main hall of the temple, the raging tornado stopped. It disappeared as if it didn’t exist in the first place, and if not for the traces of battle and the broken rocks that fell from the ceiling, no one would have imagined what occurred inside.
Oriana fell on her knees.
Yorian hurried towards her, helping her sit more comfortably on the ground. "Orian, are you alright?"
Oriana didn’t answer, her eyelids heavy and her breaths labored.
"That power," Yorian mumbled and looked at Seren. "She had used divine power just now."
"I felt the same. It was not the power of darkness, but a divine power."
