Chapter 199: Do..Not..Leave..Me...

Time seemed to stand still as their lips met, a delicate fusion of passion and restraint. His arm encircled her waist, drawing her closer to him, while her hands instinctively found their place on his broad shoulders.

His warm lips opened slowly to capture her soft ones into them, his other hand moving up to settle against the side of her neck, his thumb caressing her cheek, his fingers finding their way to her hair under the bottom of her headwrap while his intoxicated breath mixed with her sweet one.

A satisfied groan left his throat, as if his soul was craving for this connection all along.

Oriana found herself opening her lips and reciprocating what he was doing with her. It was a gentle, tender connection, akin to an exploration of new territory. Every sensation was amplified—the soft pressure of his lips against hers, the taste of warmth and anticipation as his tongue tasted her lips. Her body tingled with an unfamiliar rush of emotions, her mind consumed by the sweetness of the moment as she felt every string of her body come alive.

However, that sweetness did not last long.

Cradling her head to cater better to his needs, that sweet, gentle kiss turned into an intense one, his coarse tongue finding its way inside her cavern, dominating, conquering, which startled her for a bit before she too responded in kind.

Needy guttural groans left his throat, mixing with her soft moans, his tongue fervently tasting every nook and cranny of her mouth, making her feel as if every breath of hers was indeed his and his alone.

The air inside the bedchamber was ignited with a passionate intensity, leaving both of them consumed by the flames of their own desire.

As the intoxicating kiss lingered and the pair eventually parted, Oriana’s lips still tingled, her body seemingly awakened to a desire she never knew existed. Breathless, she opened her eyes, only to see the man in front of her panting heavily with his eyes still shut close.

"You... are... mine...belong...to me..."

Oriana was tempted to say ’yes’, but just as she opened her mouth, she found his head leaning down once more. His head moved to rest on her shoulder and he stayed still like that.

It was a moment of utter contentment, their desires fulfilled. Oriana silently allowed him to stay in that position. Her chest heaved up and down, and she closed her eyes to get better control of her raging emotions.

She found him nuzzling in the crook of her neck, still panting, and she had no choice but to hold onto him as he almost put all his weight on her. If not for the door supporting her back, she would have fallen on the floor with him.

"Do...not...leave...me..."

His plea struck a tender chord inside her. She could not help but put her arms to hold him steady and said in a low whisper, "I won’t."

She didn’t know what she felt at that moment or why she even said those words, if she really meant them or merely said them in the heat of the moment, but for now, they made perfect sense to say.

"I won’t," she repeated.

The prince did not respond. He did not move, and his breathing evened out. He seemed to have fallen asleep while clinging onto her.
