After so many failed attempts, Oriana finally succeeded, although the tear she created was only about an inch long.
Oriana’s face was bright.
’It was the most difficult thing I did. I almost exhausted my entire magic reserves to create this small crack. I do not have enough magic to wrap any object and put it inside.’ Then, how was she going to carry the bundles of black nightshade? ’I didn’t expect it to be this difficult. But never mind. At least, I crossed the most difficult part. The important thing is that I learned it. I can practice it on my own until it’s large enough to fit those herbs."
Rosetta stared at Oriana, dumbfounded. Fortunately, she was quick to recover her facial expression.
’What an absurd talent!’
Spatial magic was something which was not easy to learn, at least it was unreasonable to understand it in a lesson merely three hours long. But her student did it, and as a teacher, she was proud of her student’s achievement.
If Rosetta belonged to a coven, she would be the object of envy of her sisters, to have such a capable apprentice who can carry on her mantle. However, as the strict no-nonsense teacher she was, not a single word of praise left Rosetta’s mouth.
’Nothing less can be expected from the Queen of Witches. Her magic power is not only stronger than an ordinary witch, even her comprehension ability is monstrous. If only she grew up in a coven, properly educated at a young age, she would have ruled the entire witch race by now. Perhaps only the former Queen would have the ability to defeat her among all the witches.’
Unfortunately, Oriana did not see the astonishment of her teacher. At this moment, all she could think of was. ’Now I can hide the black nightshade and carry herbs with me anytime, anywhere.Grandpa, I got over one of the hurdles in my way!’
Since Oriana had exhausted her magic, Rosetta had to provide her an elixir ahead of time to recover.
Oriana looked at the small bottle in her hand and asked her teacher. "Can I learn how to make these recovery elixirs in tomorrow’s class session?"
"You wish," Rosetta said, confusing Oriana with what she meant. This woman could never answer her directly.
Oriana spent the next two hours polishing her skills, slowly improving her understanding of spatial magic.
’It is not necessary to use stronger magic to create a bigger spatial tear. What I need is to sharpen my control over magic.’
In her head, she kept Rosetta’s and Yorian’s seemingly effortless wave of the hand as her goal for spatial pockets.
’Exquisite control. There should not even be much of a magic fluctuation.’
When the sun overhead reached its peak in the sky, Oriana realized the lesson was over. It was already noon. She held Rosetta’s hand and they disappeared, returning to the guest mansion of Griven.
She discovered a pleasant surprise. Because she successfully learned the spatial pocket spell, she could now better appreciate how amazing the spatial shift spell was.
After getting rid of black magic traces from Oriana’s body, Rosetta spoke, "Do not practice spatial magic on your own. It is dangerous unsupervised. Make sure to finish reading the new book before tomorrow’s lesson."
"Yes, Teacher," Oriana replied. In her arms was a novice book on potion-making. "Uhm, about the ingredients needed...?"
Rosetta scoffed. "A lowly witch like you cannot even recognize a single spirit herb. Even if you scour an entire mountain, it’s impossible for you to gather the ingredients of the most basic healing potion. Forget it.""
