"We won’t take much of your time. Your master is busy. I saw her with her husband still enjoying dancing with him. We are just eager to know the beauty of another kingdom better," other one informed.
So these two were aware she was with the Queen of Megaris but still dared to stop her.
"I still have to be there," Oriana walked ahead but one of the men held her hand. She jerked off his hand and glared at him, warning him to stay away from her.
Both of them were taken aback by her glare but found it amusing and didn’t wish to give up.
"Such a feisty young woman. I am sure you are so beautiful that you have to use this veil to cover your face. But even if you are ugly, we don’t mind."
’Drunken jerks,’ she cursed in her mind, walked ahead in that hallway to get away from them. Arguing with them was not of any use. All she wanted was to stop herself from beating them and causing a commotion.
More than them, she was scared of her own temper and reckless actions. If it was not for the sake of affecting Seren’s image, she would have beaten them up the moment they touched her hand.
The two men didn’t stop and instead called for the guards who were standing at fixed distance to guard the corridor, "Get her," and looked at her with a wicked smirk. They were drunk and noble so they would not bother themselves with such a task. All they needed the guards to drag her to their feet.
Oriana was stunned hearing it. ’Do they not fear to offend the King and the Queen of Megaris? Who are these scumbags?’
Seeing the guards ready to get her, she ran away from there. She knew she was good at running, even though that long dress was causing her a little trouble. She Grabbed the front of her dress with her both hands to lift it up a little and ran away in that corridor.
’I will hide somewhere for a while. Then I will find a way to return to Her Majesty. If I can’t, I will just stay put and I am sure Her Majesty will notice my absence and ask to look for me. All I need to do is to hide and not get caught by these men or I will be forced to beat them to pulp.’
As everyone was busy with the ball, the corridors were entirely quiet except for a few more Othinian guards she found on the way, but they clearly ignored her. She realized those scumbags were from Othinia and they used two guards to catch her, so the rest of the guards were not willing to meddle and offend those two men.
’Bunch of jerks.’
She angrily glared at them and continued to run in that long corridor. She turned her head around to look back and found those two men standing in their places, admiring her running away while having disgusting smiles on their faces.
She gritted her teeth and decided to not look back at all and needed to not get caught by those two guards.
’His Highness is right. I am a magnet to troubles. Even when I want to be quiet and peaceful, the troubles follow me anyway. What kind of sins I have committed in previous life to face troubles again and again and to not have peace in life at all.’
She blindly ran along the corridor to get away from those two guards and found a turn ahead. Without thinking she took a turn in the closed corridor seemingly having doors on both sides on the walls. Just after a while, when she ran further away, she found it was the end of the corridor.
’What the....’ she gritted her teeth, ’how can it end here? Such a huge palace it is.’
