Chapter 473: Warm Embrace

Arlan cradled Oriana in his arms, his face etched with worry.

Approaching him, Drayce inquired, "Arlan, are you alright?"

Arlan merely nodded, yet the pallor of his complexion and the evident depletion of his energy betrayed the toll it had taken on him. Somehow, he persevered for Oriana’s sake.

Taking Oriana’s hand, Drayce checked her pulse and sighed in relief, "She is fine," addressing Arlan’s unspoken concern.

"I need to take her back," Arlan stated.

"You might be unable to utilize your teleportation power. Allow me to transport both of you," Drayce offered, and Arlan silently agreed.

Arlan, having been wounded by a divine weapon, naturally experienced a significant weakening of his powers.

Meanwhile, Yorian fixed a cold glare on Zaria and questioned, "Are you satisfied now?"

Zaria, her attention fixed on Oriana, responded after a prolonged silence, "Her destiny was bound to find her, irrespective of anyone’s interference, and whoever sacrificed themselves to fulfill it for her."

Yorian simmered with anger, but Evanthe silently held his arm, encouraging him to temper his emotions. Yorian’s rare displays of anger hinted at an elf more dangerous than one might imagine.

Ignoring Zaria, Yorian walked toward Oriana and Arlan, his heart weighed down witnessing Oriana’s pain and grappling with the realization that they had nearly lost Arlan.

Evanthe turned her gaze to Zaria, stating, "We have matters to settle between us, but today is not the day."

"Certainly, I will await that day," Zaria replied calmly.

Evanthe departed to join Oriana, accompanied by the other two women. Zaria’s companions, having witnessed the true might of their Queen’s power, stood exhausted and relieved. All eyes were fixed on Oriana, who had finally fallen into a quiet state.

"Sister Zaria, aren’t we going to our Queen?" inquired one of her subordinates.

Zaria, unusually somber, responded after a pause, "She is fine with her people."

"But..."

Another subordinate intervened, "Sister Zaria is more concerned for her than any of us."

Zaria gazed in Oriana’s direction for a while, her emotions concealed. "Let’s leave from here," she commanded.

Her companions obeyed, and together they vanished from the scene.

Yorian approached Drayce, asking, "How is she?"

"Seems fine, but Mother might be able to assess her condition better," Drayce replied.

Evanthe and the other two approached them, and Drayce addressed them, "Mother, we have to leave."

"Wildridge Manor," Arlan declared.

In such a precarious situation, he preferred not to take Oriana to the palace. Wildridge Manor, his own residence, provided a place where any secrets could be concealed.
