Meanwhile, Arlan and Yorian arrived at the garden, where the white wolf rested beneath the shade of a tree.
"She was being untruthful, wasn’t she?" Yorian remarked, referring to Oriana’s lie about her body not feeling the impact of her powers.
Arlan nodded, "I chose not to expose her lie in front of the others, to spare her any embarrassment."
"When did you feel her body was being affected?" Yorian inquired.
"Today, when I held her close, I sensed a noticeable weakening of her energy," Arlan recalled their recent encounter in the garden. "Even if I had asked her then, she would have denied it, and likely become more guarded in the future to hide it well from me."
"Hmm, knowing her, that’s highly probable," Yorian agreed. "Now that it’s begun, what’s your plan?"
"To seek a solution," Arlan replied. "Drayce suggested that you three might propose that I form a bond with her."
"We did consider it, but given her weakened state, undergoing the marking phase would be challenging for her weak body which is already bearing the brunt of her power of Demoness," Yorian explained, "You’re aware of how marking works as it challenges the survival of a female, and difficult enough even for a strong female, it’s no easy task."
"Hmm, then what other options do we have?" Arlan inquired, concern etched on his features.
"She’s a demoness, so you could try aiding her in the way demons assist their weaker partners," Yorian suggested.
"What do you mean?" Arlan inquired.
Yorian paused, turning to face Arlan directly. "You two haven’t consummated your marriage, have you?"
Arlan frowned, feeling displeased with Yorian delving into their private affairs. "Get to the point."
"That’s the method," Yorian clarified. "It’s how demons share the essence of their power with their weaker partners... with a willing partner," he emphasized the last words.
Understanding dawned on Arlan, and he inwardly sighed. The important thing for them was now be associated with a need instead of simply out of love for each other. Will there be anything between them be simple and without having any purpose?
"If she is not ready from her heart, it won’t work," Yorian added.
"I understand," Arlan replied as they made their way toward his pet.
"Although you’re not a demon, you possess attributes of darkness, so the process should work similarly as if you were aiding a demon partner," Yorian explained. "Demon’s bodys’ are meant to absorb whatever aides to their strength and increase in their powers. You can heal her this way so she can be strong enough to be get marked."
"I see," Arlan acknowledged.
They approached Snowflake, who lazily opened her eyes and regarded the newcomer beside her master. Rising to her feet, Snowflake approached Arlan, who affectionately patted her head and said, "Snowflake, my friend wishes to meet you."
Snowflake turned her attention to Yorian, her frost-blue eyes scrutinizing him before she took in his scent.
"She can sense that I possess powers," Yorian remarked.
"Drayce mentioned she has magical abilities, but we haven’t yet discovered the specifics," Arlan explained. "I’ve never witnessed her displaying any signs of using magic."
"Sometimes, magical abilities aren’t overtly demonstrated like those of a magician; they can manifest passively, without others noticing," Yorian elaborated.
"What do you mean?" Arlan inquired.
Yorian met the wolf’s gaze and asked, "Would you mind if I touch your forehead for a moment?"
