The Devil's Betrothed novel Chapter 536

Chapter 536: Do Not Check My Limits

Allowing her grandfather to rest, Oriana returned to her study, the dim light barely illuminating the room as the sun had already set. Her day had been a whirlwind, leaving her little time for rest. Yet, there were pressing matters that demanded her attention, so she summoned three important figures to her side by sending a magical message taught by Yorian.

As the trio settled into the chairs before her, Yorian wasted no time in breaking the silence. "How is your grandfather? Did the magical pill prove effective?"

Evanthe, her tone tinged with annoyance, interjected before Oriana could respond. "Are you questioning the efficacy of my creation, elf?"

"I dare not, little witch," Yorian replied with a teasing smirk, "It’s just a way of starting communication, but you might lack this sense due to not living among people."

"As if you were partying with hundreds of people every day? The elf who ran away to seek solitude, is teaching me about communication?" she retorted with a scoff, "Talking with your two beast pets must have made wonders for you."

"Enough banter," Sierra intervened, redirecting the focus. "Oriana, please tell us what you have called us here for."

With a nod, Oriana began recounting her conversation with her grandfather, detailing the events of the past, including Arlan’s birth and the Queen’s demise.

"So, it was a golden lotus crafted from the divine power of a deity?" Evanthe mused, lost in contemplation. "And within it dwelled the soul of a dragon."

Oriana nodded, absorbing Evanthe’s insights before the conversation continued.

"The divine lotus fell in the human realm after the last war between Gods and Demons. The one who disappeared after putting an end to that war was Esmeray. That means Esmeray was the owner of that divine lotus."

"It’s indeed possible," Yorian added, "Also, Oriana and prince Arlan have the divine power of similar Essence, crafted from the same origin."

"You two are right but it was not Esmerray who crafted that flower, but her mother. That divine power comes from her mother," Sierra commented.

"I had the similar conclusion when I was talking to my grandfather," Oriana added.

Evanthe looked at Sierra, "You have known about Esmeray’s mother. During that period, have you heard about she crafted such an artefact and hiding a Dragon’s soul inside it?"

"I did not hear about it," Sierra answered, "It is also because if any deity crafts any powerful artefact from their powers, they never reveal it unless there is a reason to do so. That artefact is solely their possession and theirs to use. Moreover, there was a strong reason for her to not reveal it to anyone- Dragon’s soul. Dragon’s soul is powerful. If gods or demons, anyone knew it, they would have tried to covet it. She understood the necessity of hiding it."

Yorian nodded. "If her mother crafted it, then it likely passed to Esmerray after her disappearance during the hellfire breakout. You were close to Esmerray. Did she ever mention it?"

Sierra paused, recollecting. "Occasionally, she would abruptly leave, citing the need to attend to ’the little flower.’ When pressed for details, she would only mention it as something important her mother had left behind."

"It appears we have our answer," Evanthe concluded, glancing at her companions, who nodded in agreement. Oriana observed the exchange silently, absorbing the weight of their discussion.

"You are the rightful owner of that flower, Oriana," Yorian clarified, sensing her confusion. "Though the physical flower may be gone, there is Prince Arlan carrying what was in that flower, what was your to begin with. Another revelation that your connection with him is no coincidence. It was ordained that you would be born into the Verner family to claim what is rightfully yours."

"I... I’m not sure what to say," Oriana admitted, her mind reeling with the weight of Yorian’s words.

"Your ancestors were foretold that the true owner would one day emerge to claim the flower," Evanthe elaborated. "And that owner is you. Your bloodline was blessed, chosen to birth the demoness until the time of her awakening, safeguarding what rightfully belonged to her."

"As I’ve said before, there are no coincidences in the realm of supernaturals," Evanthe continued. "Every event unfolds with purpose."
