Flashback
That night, Zaria was busy thinking about Oriana.
’She is going to challenge one witch who is no less than a demon. With her current state, I don’t think she can even manage to harm a strand of her hair. To defeat her, Oriana needs to unseal her abilities as the Queen of witches. But it won’t be easy, as her abilities have remained dormant and suppressed for a long time. She needs a significant trigger that can shake her entirely. But what could that be? She has nothing precious to lose, nor does she have someone for whom she would even die. Or does she?’ freёwebnovel.com
"Sister Zaria," a servant came to her, "King Samer has sent a message that there is a guest for you."
Zaria looked at the fellow witch. "A guest?"
"Yes. His Majesty has requested your presence in the palace."
Surprised about who would come to meet her through King Samer, Zaria disappeared from her room and appeared in the palace of Thevailes where the king was waiting for her in the drawing room of his residence.
The knight announced her arrival. Upon the king’s approval, Zaria entered the drawing room. Her gaze passed over the figure sitting in the chair opposite King Samer, seeing only the back of the chair.
"Your Majesty, you summoned me?"
Samer nodded. "My friend here wishes to meet you," he said, looking at the person sitting in front of him.
Zaria turned her attention to the man who stood up and turned to face her.
’Prince Arlan?’ Zaria was taken aback by his presence, but at the same time, she received some answers.
"Your Highness," she bowed to him, "How may I assist you?"
"I would like to speak alone," Arlan proposed, waiting for Samer’s approval.
Samer stood up. "I will leave you two to your business," he said, looking at Arlan, "See you later."
With Samer gone, Zaria faced Arlan. "I wonder what brings Prince Arlan to talk with the enemy of his dear friend?"
"We shall keep that dear friend out of our business as it has nothing to do with him," Arlan replied. "I am here to make a deal with you, and I believe you won’t reject it."
"A deal?"
Arlan nodded. "I need your help to lift a blood curse from my family."
"So, it’s not just any deal, but you are seeking help from me."
"Indeed, it’s a deal as I will be offering something precious in return."
"And what might that be?"
"A dragon’s blood," Arlan answered.
Zaria raised a brow, "Dragon’s blood? Are you offering me your friend’s blood in return for helping you? Did he consent to it?"
"As I said before, my friend has nothing to do with our deal," Arlan said. "Do not assume that he is the only dragon in existence."
"Another dragon? I believe you do not mean the King of Agartha?"
"Of course not," Arlan replied. "I hope you will focus on the fact that it’s a deal between us two, and others have nothing to do with it."
Zaria stared at him wordlessly before stepping towards him, her gaze fixed on him as if trying to see through him.
She extended her hand. "Your hand, Prince Arlan."
Without hesitation, Arlan extended his hand. Zaria held his hand and pierced her nail into his palm. Her fingers touched the blood, and she mumbled, "Divine blood."
