Chapter 626: Royal Decree For Oriana

"Commander of the Royal Knights of Megaris, Commander Calhaun Sanders, greets Your Majesty, King Ailwin." Slayer bowed to the King.

"The royal adviser of the Kingdom of Megaris, Jasper Makedon, greets Your Majesty, King Ailwin," the second man bowed as well.

One was King Drayce Ivanov’s royal knight, while the other was his adviser, who handled the kingdom in Drayce’s absence. Everyone was surprised to see these two distinguished figures from Megaris. Their visit couldn’t be for a simple purpose.

Ailwin accepted their greetings and spoke, "Glad to have you here, Commander Sanders and Royal Adviser Lord Makedon. Please state the purpose of your arrival."

Jasper began, "Your Majesty, I am here to announce the royal decree sent by His Majesty, King Drayce Ivanov. Please allow me."

"You may."

Jasper opened the scroll he was carrying and read it aloud, its contents shocking everyone: The King and Queen of Megaris have gifted the territory under Megaris, previously known as the Kingdom of Aurialor, to the Crown Princess of Griven, Oriana Cromwell, as a wedding gift. Aurialor will no longer be a part of Megaris but will be restored to its previous identity as the Kingdom of Aurialor, given to Oriana. She will be the sole owner of it, and it is up to her to decide what to do with it.

Oriana was stunned as she looked at Arlan, who nodded to her.

Others were equally shocked because no kingdom would give away even an inch of their land, let alone one of their prosperous territories, to anyone. It had never happened before.

Arlan turned to Luis, his voice loud and clear. "Now you dare say my wife is not the Princess. She has received what rightfully belongs to her and her alone. That kingdom was founded by her ancestors, and she is the sole descendant." He announced, "My wife, Oriana Verner, is the Princess of Aurialor, Princess Oriana Laurien."

Jasper then addressed Oriana, "Princess Oriana Laurien, kindly accept the Royal Decree."

Unsure of what to do, Oriana looked at Arlan, who gave her an assuring nod. She hadn’t expected any of this, but with her husband declaring her a princess and making such efforts to humble Luis, she would not let him down. Seeing Luis brought low was satisfying.

Oriana walked to Jasper and kneeled before him, honoring the royal decree. Jasper handed it to her. She stood and bowed, "Thank you so much, Lord Makedon."

Jasper nodded and stepped back as Oriana returned to her place, holding the decree.

Luis, rooted to his spot, finally fell to his knees, shaking his head in disbelief. Everything was destroyed. His family, neither royal nor noble, would henceforth be labeled as traitors and murderers.

The knights and royal guards, realizing their presence was no longer necessary, began to leave, making way for the King’s decision. The swordsmith, still by the table and admiring a beautiful sword, looked at Arlan and lowered his head. "Your Highness, if it is permissible, may I have one of these swords as my reward? I desire no gold or silver, only this fine sword to study."

"This is the property of the Laurien royal family. You must ask Princess Oriana Laurien for her permission," Arlan replied.

The swordsmith immediately turned to Oriana and bowed. "Your Highness, will you allow me to study this masterpiece belonging to the Laurien family? My only wish is to gain more knowledge. I give you my word, it won’t be misused."

"You may have it, master swordsmith," Oriana replied. "Do with it as you wish."

"Thank you so much, Your Highness. You are truly generous," the swordsmith said, taking the sword that had belonged to Luis.

"That’s my sword," Luis glared, his eyes red. No swordsman would want their weapon snatched away like this. Swords were like a swordsman’s soul.

"It was never yours," Arlan countered. "It was meant to be created only for the royal family of Aurialor, and you are not one of them now."
