When Draven let go of Ember, the starry sky stretched above their heads. Both of them sat by the spring, where Ember was wrapped in a blanket, and Draven wore his magical hide wrapped around his waist. He had formed a magic shield around them to protect them from the cold.
Though a dragon could withstand cold, his mate could not—especially when she was fire, the exact opposite of cold.
"The sky looks so close from here," she commented, gazing up. "As if I could raise my hand and just touch it. Though it’s not a full moon yet, it looks so big. I wonder how it would be when there’s a full moon."
"I would bring you here on the night of the full moon," Draven said.
Ember looked at him, narrowing her eyes. "On the night of the full moon? I’m sure you’d eat me alive here inside this healing water spring."
He smiled playfully and replied, "On the night of the full moon, you’d want me to eat you instead. If I won’t, I believe you’d want to break the bond with me, thinking I’m not satisfying you well."
Ember couldn’t argue. She had experienced the wildness of the full moon nights and was sure Draven’s words were true.
After spending some peaceful time together, they returned to the palace. After so long, they both felt at peace, as everything that had been going on for so long was finally resolved, and everything was right once again.
They enjoyed a delicious meal together and went to sleep.
"I want to sleep now," Ember warned Draven before her dragon mate could have any other thoughts in mind.
He chuckled softly and pulled her into his arms. "I know. Let’s sleep."
Ember let go of her defenses and allowed him to hold her, drifting off to sleep in his warm embrace.

The next two days went by peacefully. Ember was practicing with fire faye under Yorian and Sierra’s watch, while Evanthe was planning to bring Drayce and Seren to Agartha so Drayce could mark Seren and they could become mates.
Draven was in his study when Evanthe arrived.
"How is he?" Draven asked, looking at her. He was referring to Morpheus.
"He’s stable now and can manage the effects of the bond pull," Evanthe answered. "You can arrange a council meeting tomorrow."
Draven hummed silently, only to hear Evanthe ask, "What punishment have you planned for him?"
"You will know tomorrow," Draven replied.
Evanthe sighed. "I can only trust your judgment."
"Are you leaving to bring your son?" Draven asked.
"Soon," she replied. "They are busy with some important matters."
Draven raised a brow. "What’s more important for your son than marking his mate?"
"My dear dragon, you are forgetting they live in a human world where they have close kin and are emotionally attached to them. In short, they have families with many members to look after," she explained.
"What about me?" he asked curtly. freёweɓnovel.com
