Having experienced Matthew's brutal side firsthand, Julian felt his skin crawl. When Matthew said he'd empty a whole magazine of bullets, he wasn't exaggerating. Julian felt like he could see more deaths unfolding before his eyes.
A sudden chill ran down his spine. As Matthew's eyes locked onto him, he lowered his head, terrified to meet that haunting look.
Matthew coldly remarked, "Feel the wrath of the townsfolks from Woolfields. Watch as the Fullers go down, one after another, right before you. Do you still have the nerve to make dirty money after that?"
With that, he turned around to leave. Kingston followed suit as well.
Julian's expression was filled with terror, and it took him a while to snap out of it after Matthew left.
He muttered to himself, "He's a madman, a total psycho who kills for breakfast. How many more lives is he planning to take?"
Matthew went home with Kingston. They sat on the couch in silence, blankly staring ahead. Neither of them spoke, and the air around them felt awkward.
Kingston couldn't hold back anymore and asked, "Just who are you?"
Matthew was surprised when Kingston broke the silence. He replied with a grin, "Didn't I already tell you? I'm with the medical sects. Why don't you believe me?"
Kingston looked skeptical. "It's not that I don't trust you, but people from medical sects are all about saving lives. As a doctor, you're not treating the townsfolks.
"Plus, the way you kill without hesitation is scary. How am I supposed to believe that you're a doctor?"
Thinking back, Matthew realized he'd never practiced medicine seriously or worked as a doctor in a conventional sense. He only treated people when they came to him for help. Thus, Kingston's doubts were reasonable.
