Chapter 27 Demand Apology
“That tech nerd actually helped you with trouble? I thought he’d forgotten how to speak.”
“Brayden.” Lindsey sighed in exasperation.
“Don’t talk about him like that. He’s just quiet, but he’s incredibly capable.”
Without Fernando’s help, she never could have restored Golden Willow Restaurant’s surveillance footage so quickly.
Now with the recovered data, simply posting the unedited video online would be the perfect rebuttal to Jaelyn’s manipulative narrative, no explanations needed.
Fabricated edits would crumble before the raw truth.
However…
But then Lindsey paused mid–motion, offering Brayden an apologetic smile. “Actually, there might be one small thing you could help me with.”
“Hmm? What is it?” Brayden’s previously grim expression suddenly brightened.
“Fernando helped me recover the video. Since you’re the CEO of Lunaris, could you lend me a couple of official company accounts to help clear the name?”
Posting the clarification online would be easy, but turning public opinion around would be an uphill battle.
With Brayden right beside her, why not make use of his connections?
It would save her from having to spend money.
Brayden’s pride swelled instantly. “That’s it? Easy!”
Lindsey thanked him with a gesture. “Brayden, you’re the man!”

The backlash against Golden Willow Restaurant had reached its peak after Jaelyn’s so–called “explanation“.
As time passed, the crowd gathered outside the restaurant grew larger.
Some impatient individuals even began throwing objects. If not for the live media coverage and police intervention, the historic century–old signboard might have been knocked down.
Osvaldo, on his way to the restaurant by car, nearly jumped out of his seat in anger when he saw the scene on his phone.
“Those damn brats! With all things to target, they go for my signboard!”
Brayden, who was driving, tried to calm him. “Calm down. They didn’t actually hit it. People are keeping watch.”
He then glanced at Lindsey, who was still busy in the passenger seat, and added firmly, “We’ll make them apologize soon enough.”
Osvaldo looked at Lindsey pleadingly. “Lindy, when can we set the record straight?”
Lindsey closed her laptop. “Relax, Osvaldo. Everything will be settled by tonight.”
Osvaldo didn’t say anything more, but his unease was palpable.
His aged eyes remained fixed on his phone, terrified some hothead might throw stones at their restaurant’s signboard again.
That signboard was his ancestors‘ legacy!

It wasn’t just a symbol of culinary tradition; even the intricate carvings alone were priceless artifacts.
Those unreasonable brats!
While Osvaldo fretted, their car bypassed the crowd gathered at Golden Willow Restaurant’s entrance and quietly entered through the back.
Charles and the others had received word and were already waiting in the courtyard.
The moment the car stopped, they swarmed around it before the engine even cut off.
“Mr. Hodges, Lindsey, what should we do now?”
The kitchen staff all looked to Osvaldo.
But Osvaldo turned his gaze toward Lindsey under everyone’s watchful
eyes.
Lindsey stepped out of the car with no intention of explaining anything. She glanced at her watch, and when she spoke, her calm voice carried an inexplicably soothing power.
“It’s about time. Everyone, get ready. We’re opening for business.”
“Yes!”
Their unified response reached the front courtyard.
As the sun set, the pent–up tension from the day reignited with that shout.
The fans who’d been held back earlier could no longer contain themselves. They brandished sticks as they charged forward.
“Make the owner of Golden Willow Restaurant come out and apologize!

We know they’re hiding in there. Get out here now!”
“Damn right! Give us an explanation! How dare you treat someone we love like this!”
