Chapter 29 Lose Temper
Lindsey continued, “To all customers affected by today’s temporary closure, we welcome you to dine at Golden Willow Restaurant on any future date by presenting your original reservation confirmation. As our apology, we’ll include three complimentary dishes of your choice from our
menu.
“Food appreciation is highly subjective. We respect every diner’s palate, and we understand our cuisine may not suit everyone. Those seeking different flavors are always welcome to explore other restaurants or culinary styles. We make no claims to satisfy every guest, but we stand firmly behind the quality of our dishes.
“Finally, our temporary closure ends now. Tonight’s service hours remain unchanged. Reserved guests may arrive as scheduled or reschedule at their convenience. To all our customers gathered here, please travel safely. We look forward to sharing more culinary discoveries with you in the future. Thank you.”
Her apology sounded sincere, but the live stream audience barely registered her words.
The comment sections across all platforms flooded with messages like “Whatever you say, babe!” and “Gorgeous inside and out!” The viewers seemed more captivated by her appearance than her statement.
Only the starved protesters camped outside truly grasped Lindsey’s subtle ruthlessness, especially when aromatic scents began wafting from the kitchen.
They’d stood vigil all day without even scoring a consolation meal?
The restaurant had been closed all day. Why did they prioritize

reservations now? Why not serve the very protesters who disrupted business? They’d gladly pay premium prices.
But Lindsey refused to play along.
Why should those who disrupted their business get to enjoy a fine meal without consequences?
People waited months for Golden Willow Restaurant reservations. If troublemakers could just cause a scene and get seated immediately, how could the restaurant maintain its standards?
Rules were rules, and she wouldn’t make exceptions–especially not for a mob of protesters.
After saying “Thank you“, Lindsey walked straight into the restaurant without another glance at the crowd.
Her confident departure only intensified the viewers‘ fascination. The live stream’s popularity didn’t decline after Golden Willow Restaurant’s clarification. Instead, it peaked the moment Lindsey turned away.
At Ennead Mansion, Eliezer emptied another bottle of wine.
His face darkened as his piercing gaze remained locked on his phone screen, not even looking away when he poured another drink.
She was his wife.
How dare these internet strangers who’d only seen her once claim her as their wife?
The empty glass slammed onto the table with sudden force.
Zackary, who’d been engrossed in his phone, jumped from the couch. “Are you drunk?”
Eliezer didn’t even lift his eyes.
The live stream had ended, but media outlets kept replaying it for clicks, even editing standalone clips of Lindsey to generate more buzz.
Zackary glanced at the screen and couldn’t resist a quiet chuckle. “What’s this? Are you jealous that the public’s claiming your wife now?”
He plopped down beside Eliezer and clapped him on the shoulder.
“Get lost.” Eliezer shoved him away with clear disgust, kicking at him.
It was ridiculous to assume that he’d ever get jealous over Lindsey.
Zackary remained unbothered, cheerfully pouring him a drink. “If you’re not mad, why the poker face? Don’t tell me it’s because of Jaelyn.”
Just mentioning Jaelyn irritated Zackary.
He couldn’t fathom what spell that woman had cast to make Eliezer so blind.
Eliezer locked his phone and tossed it aside, accepting the glass with a scowl before downing it in one go. “What about the investigation? Any progress?”
Zackary paused while reaching for his own drink.
His fingers traced the rim of his glass for a moment before he finally poured the chilled liquor.
“Honestly? Nothing useful. Same as the records you already pulled. She studied abroad and worked part–time jobs. Completely ordinary.”
Eliezer frowned.
If that were truly the case, how could she have changed so dramatically?
Chapter 29 Lone Temper
The timid girl who used to keep her head down had somehow transformed into the princess commanding attention at the ball.
There was only one explanation for that: she had been pretending all along. But to what end?
As he pondered this, Zackary casually remarked, “Someone tampered with her records though. The technique was sophisticated. I haven’t cracked it yet. But I’m certain the ordinary–looking documented experiences were deliberately designed to conceal the truth.”
Eliezer’s head snapped up. “What did you say?”
Zackary lounged on the sofa, swirling his glass. “I said your wife is full of mysteries…”
Eliezer splashed the wine from his glass at Zackary, who narrowly dodged it thanks to his quick reflexes.
“Damn it, Eliezer,” he snapped. “Maybe you should see a psychiatrist! Just because we’re close doesn’t mean you get to be this rude to me. Try that again and…”
“Zackary,” Eliezer cut him off coldly. “I’ve secured that land parcel. You and Adrien will sign the contracts tomorrow. I’ll have someone keep an eye on Lindsey. You keep investigating her activities abroad and update me immediately on anything you find out.”
Pausing, Eliezer rubbed his index finger thoughtfully before continuing in the same detached tone, “Also look into everything since her return, including her associates.”
Adrien had been handling this, yet weeks of investigation had yielded nothing substantial.
Beyond basic public information, they knew nothing about how she’d met

Brayden or become so close with Osvaldo from Golden Willow Restaurant.
