Grace arrived at the agreed–upon spot. As she opened the door and saw Antonio, anger welled up inside her. 

Antonio was quick to shut the door when she was about to leave. 

Grace stepped back, creating some space. “Why did you have Daisy invite me here?” she asked, her voice calm. 

Antonio, sensing her readiness for a confrontation, felt a bit on edge. 

He leaned back, feet on the desk, still with that same old arrogance. “What’s the problem? We’ve known each other for ten years. Can’t we talk?” 

“About what?” she asked, unimpressed. 

Antonio played with his wine glass, acting casual. “Let’s talk about how you hooked up with Devin behind my back.“. 

His tone, expression, and attitude all left Grace feeling queasy. 

She put down her bag, her voice resolute. “After I resigned, I’ve drawn a clear line with you, Mr. Kaufiman. There’s nothing more to say.”

Antonio couldn’t help but sneer, “Do you think keeping quiet means I’m in the dark? A man like Devin, so by the book, hasn’t had much female company. You made the first move, and he was sure to fall for it. You’ve got some tricks up your sleeve, charmed him into a wedding, and even fooled me. You’ve had your fun, right?” 

His teasing tone made Grace’s face go cold. 

She didn’t want to argue, so she played along, trying to figure out his game. 

“So what if I have or haven’t had enough?” 

Seeing her admit it, Antonio felt confident. There was a flicker of triumph in his eyes.
