The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 292

Shaun couldn't believe Nolan was still so full of himself, but at this point, he decided to just let it go.

He looked at Nolan with a smile. "I actually kind of admire you. That thick skin of yours is something many people wish they had.

"But it's okay. Living in your own little world isn't so bad. But once Lincoln arrives, you'll need to come back to reality and start behaving like the obedient dog you are."

With that, Shaun took a seat and watched Nolan indifferently, as if he were waiting for Nolan's comedic performance.

Right then, Kara spoke coldly. "Nolan, I didn't invite you to my birthday party for you to put on some pretentious act. Didn't you say you'd give me a gift? Let's see what you could possibly give me."

Kara then pointed to the crowd and continued with a smile, "You're a fraud who's already been caught giving out knockoffs, so don't think you'll be able to fool me and everyone here again today. Come on! Let's see what you brought."

Looking at Kara, Nolan sighed. "Honestly, you don't quite deserve this gift I'm giving you. But since I promised Audrey I would give you a present you liked, and she said this was what you wanted the most, I'm giving it to you even though you don't deserve it."

Kara was livid at his words. How dare he claim she didn't deserve the gift without even revealing it! What did he take her for?

"Nolan, how dare you insult me! Fine. Let's see what you brought that I'm supposedly unworthy of," Kara snapped, holding her hand out with a sneer. "Go on! Show me what I'm not good enough for!"

Nolan reached into his pocket and slowly pulled out a small glass vial that was no larger than a thumb.
