In Eastland, Scarlet and Fang were both at Malcolm's house. Inside the study, Scarlet swept his gaze over the bloodstains on the floor and desk.
His eyes narrowed slightly and, with a cold chuckle, he said, "So, this is where Mr. Greene watched Malcolm get taken, live on video. And to top it off, the person who took him had the nerve to taunt Mr. Greene."
Fang's eyes glinted coldly as he responded, "Mr. Scarlet, my men are fully mobilized and ready to strike at any moment. On top of that, I've brought in reinforcements from nearby underworld networks. In short, Eastland is sealed tight—if Mr. Greene so wishes, not even a fly will get out."
Scarlet nodded, his eyes fixed on Fang. "Fang, do you know that Pierce is here?"
Fang swallowed hard at the mention, nodding as he replied, "Yeah, I heard Mr. Greene called Mr. Pierce back."
Pierce was a living legend, a true War-God level figure. Compared to him, Fang was like a rookie next to a professional—there was no contest at all.
Scarlet was undoubtedly terrifying in his own right, but her brand of fear was entirely different from Pierce's. Pierce's terror lay in his unyielding discipline and military precision. To put it bluntly, while Fang might be more than qualified to run Eastland at its top figure, he still had a long way to go before he could ascend to the ranks of a true overlord of the Eastern State's underworld.
Pierce, on the other hand, was a force powerful enough to single-handedly hold down the entire southeastern state—and still have strength to spare. With just himself and his handpicked team, he could sweep through the underworld without breaking a sweat. That was what made him truly terrifying.
