Men like Shaun especially would never want to be embarrassed in front of beautiful women.
As Shaun watched Megan and Jeanne approach with smiles on their faces, he couldn't help but take a few extra glances.
They were undoubtedly among the most attractive women around. With their especially stunning appearance tonight, who wouldn't let their imagination wander?
"Good one, Ms. Turner. The Baxter family does owe him a favor, so his arrogance is understandable, don't you think?"
Megan responded with a smile, "I understand that, but that favor must have already been repaid. If you and Mr. Archie hadn't stepped in today, Nolan would have been humiliated badly, and in front of Audrey at that.
"I can only say that you're too kind, and Mr. Archie is too loyal. However, spending a hundred million dollars on a worthless piece of art should have cleared even the largest favor.
"Surely, he can't keep using that favor to continually exploit the Baxters and expect the Baxters to always cover for him, right?"
Shaun chuckled as he looked at Megan. "That won't happen, of course. It seems like you're very observant. Why do I get the feeling that you know Mr. Greene quite well?"
Megan and Nolan were once married, so it was only natural that they knew each other well. But Megan would never reveal such an embarrassing detail.
"I'm quite familiar with him, indeed. That's why I know a little about the situation. What I can't figure out is how someone who had just gotten out of prison could manage to get your family to owe him a favor.
"Would you care to enlighten me, Mr. Baxter?"
Megan genuinely wanted to understand the extent of Nolan and the Baxters' relationship as it would help her navigate her future actions better.
