The Queen Returns—And She's Unforgiving novel Chapter 117

Before Evelyn said anything, she heard Tiffany's voice on the other end of the call, asking, "May I know who's on the line?"

Evelyn's words got stuck in her throat, which was so dry that it was hard for her to swallow.

Did Lucas not save her number?

She looked at her feet and asked, "Where's Lucas?"

"He's next to me. I'm afraid he's not free today to deal with you," Tiffany said casually.

She sounded so calm that it was as if Evelyn was Lucas' secret mistress who could be easily brushed off instead.

Evelyn frowned. Before she could say anything, she heard Michael's voice, saying, "Ms. Moore, the cake shop just called and asked if they should get the cake delivered to the venue."

Evelyn ended the call without any hesitation.

She stood in place for a long time. Her face was pale, and she could not help but rub her abdomen with her brow furrowed. She was beginning to feel more and more unwell.

Clearly, there was no need for her to confirm it with Lucas anymore.

Michael was helping Tiffany order a birthday cake. It was clear that he was following Lucas' instructions.

Lucas truly did not care about her feelings at all. He did not intend to respect her in the slightest.

The sense of helplessness dragged her down, making her feel suffocated.

It took a while for Evelyn to calm down and regain her composure. She then returned to the front yard as if nothing had happened.

As soon as she left, Blake put out his cigarette under the pine tree and sneered as he watched her walk away.

Tiffany was at Bluezen. Lucas happened to return from his meeting when she put the phone back on the table. He glanced at his watch and asked, "Why haven't you gone over?"

Tiffany smiled. "I wanted to wait for you. Do you have other things to take care of?"

It was her mother's birthday, and Lucas already bought the present some time ago.

She could tell that Lucas took her matters seriously. He even booked out Mason's entire resort for one day for her mother's birthday party—just to make her happy. They planned to have dinner together and have a cake that night.

Lucas looked up. "You should head over first. I still have some things to take care of."
