Blake's eyes were narrowed. He spoke with such a faint smile that it was hard to tell if he was being serious. "Evie, why don't you beg me? Maybe I can consider saving you from this misery."
Evelyn could tell that Blake was poking fun at her. She ignored him and left.
Blake watched her receding back, but the smile on his face gradually faded.
Judging by how Evelyn was willing to accept this grievance, she truly loved Lucas very much.
Blake stared at Evelyn's back for a long time. He then took a photo of Evelyn's back from a distance and sent it to a contact that he had never chatted with.
"Mr. Grant, Evie will bite back if she's pushed over the edge. She has learned that you're celebrating Millie's birthday. It might not look good if she were to go and make a scene.
"How about you have Bluezen give Finlay Tech 1% more of the profit? Evie always does as I say. I'll help you console her, and I won't let her interrupt your romantic time with Ms. Moore. It's a win-win situation. What do you think?" Blake texted.
However, he did not get a reply. His message sank like a stone to the bottom of the sea.
Clearly, Lucas had chosen to be indifferent and ignore him.
Blake clicked his tongue in annoyance. Lucas truly did not care about Evelyn at all.
…
Evelyn walked up to Justine, who was frowning and looking unhappy.
"What's the matter?" Evelyn asked and pinched her cheeks.
It was only then did Justine regain her senses, and she looked at Evelyn with a complex expression.
"Don't get mad, Evie," said Justine.
"What?" Evelyn looked up and asked. She continued placing the things neatly on the altar.
Justine gritted her teeth and grabbed Sebastian's phone. "Tiffany posted another picture to Instagram. Take a look."
At first, Evelyn was not that curious. However, a look gleamed in her eyes as she looked at the phone.
