Meanwhile, Jason had asked if she'd managed to get in touch with the doctor. Evelyn told him the truth.
Jason replied, "His phone is basically just for show. Most of the time, he's in remote places abroad with no internet or signal. He's not ignoring you on purpose."
She didn't feel it was appropriate to keep pressing the matter after hearing the explanation.
He wasn't obligated to help her in the first place.
Even though she trusted that anyone Jason introduced would be from the top in their profession, she wouldn't waste her time waiting around for nothing if she couldn't get in contact. She had to be prepared.
While still on break, Evelyn shifted her focus back to finding out which specialists might return to the country after the holidays, using all the connections she could to gather information.
As for Lucas, they still hadn't contacted each other yet. Evelyn didn't have the time to think about anything else as she was too busy gathering information on medical experts.
At the equestrian club, Tiffany dismounted her horse with ease after riding it.
Mason, who was nearby, immediately clapped and cheered. "Not bad! With skills like that, you could totally compete in professional events. How cool!"
Sophia, who was beside Lucas, said with stars in her eyes, "Tiffany, is there anything you can't do? You're great at studying, and you can play too. You're a genius!"
"Would you look at that? Even Sophia is your number one fan now," Mason teased with a laugh.
He then glanced toward Fiona, who was playing a video game. "Hey, Fiona, why don't you learn to ride? Sophia can teach you."
Out of everyone present, Fiona was the only one who hadn't learned yet.
Jason looked toward her and asked, "Do you want to give it a try?"
Tiffany walked over with a gentle smile. "Don't worry, I'll keep you safe."
Only then did Fiona look up. Shaking her head, she replied, "No, thanks. I want to play games with my sister."
Tiffany stopped smiling. "You have a sister?"
Jason immediately knew Fiona was talking about Evelyn.
Fiona nodded. "A super pretty sister who I know is especially good at gaming. You guys can go ahead with the ride. I'm not interested."
Tiffany could tell the girl really liked this person, and since Jason showed zero surprise at the mention of her, he already knew who. She walked over, grabbed a water bottle in front of him, and twisted it open.
"Why haven't I heard you mention this person before?"
Lucas casually looked over at them.
Jason paused while drinking, after which he answered, "It's not important."
It was clear he had no intention of elaborating.
Tiffany turned to look at Lucas. She raised a brow and asked, "Do you want to race with me, Lucas?"
Lucas looked at her. His gaze was cool and indifferent as he replied, "Sure."
