The client meeting was for the next day.
THE.
NEXT.
DAY.
Luca, the inexperienced guild leader, realized they had absolutely nothing in their office!
Not even a desk or a single stool!
And has the place even been dusted?!
Oh no!
The little chipmunk shot up from his bed, effectively waking up Xavier, who was sensitive to sudden movements.
Luca was going nuts, and understandably so, as this was their first-ever customer!
First impressions last!
Well, they do, but if anyone’s first impression of him lasted longer than necessary, then he wouldn’t be here right now.
The little chipmunk was off the bed, preparing to go into the bathroom to rush out.
"Luca? Is there something wrong? It’s the middle of the night?" Xavier asked, his voice a little husky from suddenly waking up.
Luca was frantic and practically cannonballed over to the surprised Xavier, who thought he’d have to catch the small animal.
"Now, can you tell me what’s wrong?" Asked the Prince, who only had one azure eye open.
"Our office. It... it sucks!" blurted the little chipmunk.
And for a moment, the newly awakened Prince had to think about this ’office.’
Ah.
The guild base.
Well, they got what they paid for.
"We could fix it up if you want so it wouldn’t be that bad."
He tried to reassure the golden dragon, but money was on the line, and he should’ve known better.
"We can’t go right now because the curfew is still being implemented, but we can try preparing a few things so we could just put them up tomorrow."
But they underestimated the ’office’.
It wasn’t just bad.
It was barely holding on.
If a strong breeze blew, there was a high probability they’d lose the cover over their heads.
This was based on the surveillance they’re looking at right now.
Ideally, they were thinking of checking the place and the blueprints to buy some furniture that could be delivered before the client arrived.
But where would they place them? Would it even hold?
After all, when they went in the other day, they didn’t bother to look around and just entered the space almost immediately.
Regrets!
Regrets everywhere!
The little businessman was devastated.
He didn’t think such a decision would impact them negatively like this!
Xavier saw this and could only watch the despondent chipmunk who was drooping everywhere.
He actually looked like slime at this point.
He figured he’d comfort the little guy and already had his hand out to pat his head when the slime suddenly straightened like a pole!
"?!"
Wait.
’...’
Was he unappealing now?
