616.Chapter 616
It was the perfect time to settle both old grudges and new feuds!
If she didn’t take care of Anthony here and now, the petty, vindictive Anthony would surely come after Kingsley, or even those kids who had stumbled upon the dragonbone lotus.
So she made up her mind to handle Anthony in Woteria.
Eliza left the Black Flag camp but didn’t immediately go after Anthony.
She had poisonous bugs arranged by Vexara tracking him, ensuring she knew his every move. With that in place, she wasn‘ t worried.
Instead, she decided to use this rare opportunity to test someone.
Soon, Eliza arrived at the governor’s manor in Woteria.
Nolan was still here, tirelessly managing disaster relief efforts across the region. Eliza wasn’t here to see him. Her purpose was to meet Rafe.
This was the first time Eliza sought him out after learning from their last conversation that he might be Gabriel’s illegitimate
son.
“Sis?” In the pitch–black chamber, Rafe heard the creak of the door and the sound of approaching footsteps.
He seemed to have already guessed who it was.
As Eliza stepped into the dimly lit room, Rafe narrowed his eyes slightly, his gaze fixed on her silhouette against the light. A smirk played on his lips as he greeted her in a tone that carried a hint of amusement.
“Don’t call me that,” Eliza said coldly, her voice sharp and unyielding.
A Black Flag soldier accompanying her lit the candles mounted on the chamber walls.
The flickering light revealed Rafe, who had been confined in the chamber for days. Despite his disheveled appearance, he sat there with an air of unbothered confidence, as if nothing could faze him.
“Sis, have you finally come to terms with our family ties and decided to claim me as your little brother?”
Rafe stubbornly kept calling her “Sis,” blatantly ignoring Eliza’s warnings.
Eliza’s gaze turned frosty, her tone sharp and unyielding. “I’ll say this one last time–stop calling me ‘Sis.”
“Whether or not you’re Anthony’s illegitimate son, you don’t have the right. If you value your life, you’d better listen carefully.”
Rafe blinked, his eyes wide with mock innocence, and asked pitifully, “Then… Your Grace, what would it take for you to acknowledge me?”
“I will never acknowledge you,” Eliza said coldly. “It doesn’t matter if you’re innocent or not. The fact that you’re Gabriel’s illegitimate son makes you undeniable proof of his betrayal of my mother.”
Rafe hadn’t expected Eliza’s stance to be so resolute, leaving no room for negotiation.
He opened his mouth as if to speak but ultimately stayed silent.
