The paparazzo snatched his camera back, slinging it around his neck as he stood up, gritting his teeth. "It was Nadine."

Josephine wasn't the least bit surprised. She had already suspected as much.

"She wanted me to take pictures of Mrs. Forbes and you together and post them online. The plan was to frame Mrs. Forbes as the one who cheated first, making it seem like she betrayed Mr. Forbes. Basically, to shift public opinion back in his favor."

Josephine couldn't help but laugh when she heard that. Taking photos of her was one thing. But Nadine wanted to frame her too? Now, that was amusing.

Josephine had never seen Nadine as a real threat. She hadn't even bothered dealing with her throughout the divorce. In fact, she had been too indifferent to even confront her, and yet, Nadine had set her sights on her?

After letting the paparazzo go, Josephine turned to Ethan. "Sorry for dragging you into this."

"It's fine." In truth, there were a few photos the paparazzo had taken that Ethan actually liked. But if those got out, they'd hurt Josephine's reputation, so he deleted them.

His voice was calm, but his eyes carried a cold, sharp edge. "What are you going to do about this?"

Nadine had already escalated things to this level. If Josephine chose to stay silent, it would only encourage Nadine further. And if she wasn't willing to handle it herself, he had no problem stepping in to take care of it for her.

Fortunately, Josephine wasn't the type to back down. She hadn't dealt with Nadine before because, in her mind, the only person at fault was Zayn. Even if it wasn't Nadine, it would have been someone else—some other woman with a similar name, a Sardine, perhaps.

But this time, Nadine had crossed the line, and she had no intention of tolerating her any longer. "I've been holding onto something against her for a while now. Since she thinks she can keep provoking me and that Zayn will clean up every mess for her, let's put that theory to the test!"
