Every department had its own designated cleaning staff. Nurses like Tiffany were quite close to the cleaning staff. She winked, elaborating, "That's Rosario. She resigned because her daughter-in-law had a baby, and she wanted to look after her grandson."
Melody swapped glances with Harold, and her heart sank. She asked again, "When did she quit?"
"I can't recall, but it was probably around the same when you were on suspension." Tiffany wore an expression of disbelief. "Mel, you're not doubting her, are you? I don't think she's the one we're looking for. She was such a nice lady.
"More to the point, she came from the outskirts. She's honest and well-behaved. Let's not forget that she was also the most hardworking cleaning staff here."
Harold chuckled, asking, "Why don't you explain what she's doing at the orthopedics department, then?"
Melody didn't say anything. Instead, she pulled up the orthopedics department's security footage on the screen and started going through it meticulously, not missing out on a single detail.
Then, the screen froze on a frame that showed Rosario Garcia talking to a man. He was skinny and tall, wearing a flat cap that obscured his face.
She didn't talk to him for long either. One would've assumed he was just asking for directions if they didn't know any better. However, she was seen talking to him in the security footage repeatedly again in the next few days.
Eventually, Tiffany also came to realize what was happening. She frowned and asked, "What was wrong with Rosario? How could she have done something like this?"
"Why wouldn't she? It's all about self-interest."
Meanwhile, Melody kept a clear head. Moreover, she had narrowed it down to a single suspect now, and that would make her job easier.
She made a copy of the security footage and sent it to Felicia. Then, she sent it to Ophelia and asked for her help as well.
It wasn't as if Melody didn't know how to put her resources and connections to good use. The thing was, she was in a rather awkward place now, and that meant she would deplete them every time she used them.
That was why she would never ask for anyone's help unless it was an emergency, but it was obvious that she needed help with Rosario. She couldn't do it on her own.
It was already 10:00 pm by the time everything was done. Harold was a true gentleman and drove Melody and Tiffany home.
