"I don't want this!" Mo Qiang was sprawled on the couch of the shop, which sold wedding dresses and many other things. Her eyes lingered on the heavily adorned dress that the empress had customised just for her, and she felt her head ache with so much pain that she was about to pass out. What was going on? How come she was suddenly being pushed to become a queen out of nowhere?
"There is no point in crying anymore," Yin Fu glanced at his wife, who was crying for the nth time. He rolled his eyes and then said to her, "This is the path you chose, so of course you will have to walk on it even if you kneel."
Yin Fu was also harassed by the idea of his wife marrying the prince. He was told that their positions would not change, and the queen would only add another position in the harem, such that Fu Qi Hong would not be dominated by them or the rest of the mers Mo Qiang might take in the future.
However, he who only wished for peace and a comforting life didn't like this dream picture that the officials painted. What he wanted was a slow life that was free of schemes, but what he was getting was different from what he wanted!
Yin Fu really wanted to ask the queen whether she was handing out rewards or if she was taking revenge on their family for not doing what she asked them to do. Because this was certainly not the kind of reward that would be given to someone who had done something good.
When Mo Qiang heard Yin Fu's words, she was even more saddened. She threw her head back and cried, "You all don't love me anymore."
When the four mers heard her cries, they sighed and shook their heads. Yi Yazhu cradled his daughter and looked at his wife, who was crying like the world was coming to an end. He then turned to look at Shao Hui and asked, "Is she really against the idea of becoming a queen?"
He couldn't understand. The throne was something that the princesses fought over until their deaths, and many of the ministers tried to commit treason for it, even if it meant that they would be killed without any mercy. So why was Mo Qiang despising the throne as if it were not worthy of sitting on?
Shao Hui glanced at his sobbing wife and simply snorted. "It's nothing. She is not cut out to be the queen. She is the kind of woman who would rather be free than be restrained. Now that she has been made the queen, how is she supposed to be as free as she was when she was living as a commoner?"
That wasn't all. There were also numerous classes that Mo Qiang needed to take as she was about to become the queen. These days, she was so busy that she was spinning like a top.
Of course, she was going to cry until her tears ran dry.
Shao Huia, however, had no sympathy for his wife. Who asked her to seduce the prince? Now this was good. Not only did she get into trouble, but they were also pulled into the harem. When he thought about that place, Shao Hui could not help but shiver; he wondered if their relationship would be able to withstand the sudden changes.
Would they still remain good brothers, or would they end up scheming against one another? Shao Hui was worried, but did he have someone to share his worries with? No!
So his wife shouldn't cry. At least compared to them, her position was much better.
Xie Jie also had the same thought. Though he understood Mo Qiang's plight, he was more worried about his own situation. Compared to others, he could not even speak one single word of flattery. He wondered if he would be able to keep his wife's heart when he went to the harem.
The four mers sighed with worry while Mo Qiang stared at the ceiling.
She got to her feet and then said to her husbands, "I am going out for a walk." She needed a breather; if she continued to stay in the shop, she would be stifled to death! If she knew that this was going to happen, Mo Qiang wouldn't have revived the dying wedding dress shop. If she had known that one day she would be pushed onto the chopping board like a fish that was about to be filleted.
Yin Fu didn't stop her. He knew that his wife was not happy with the sudden changes in her life and didn't wish to cause any more incidents which would drive a wedge between them. He let her leave and then turned to the rest before they continued their discussion.
