Fu Qi Hong said to Mo Qiang in a hurry, "Qi Qi, don't be like this. I really had no such ideas. I never once asked my mother to pass out the order of letting us get married. This is something that I can assure you of." when he said those words, his eyes couldn't help but turn red. He blamed himself for not telling his mother about him and Mo Qiang; if his mother had known that the two of them were dating, then she would not have pushed for this marriage.
And he also blamed his mother for pushing the marriage in such a manner. She could have let them take their time instead of declaring outright that they would be getting married. It was a good thing that the two of them had some positive feelings towards one another. If they didn't. What would have happened then?
Fu Qi Hong was certain that Mo Qiang would have blamed him all their entire lives!
How could his mother deal with such a sensitive matter in such a way?
A chuckle escaped Mo Qiang's lips. She curled the end of her mouth and then said to Fu Qi Hong, "Your Highness is thinking too much. I really don't have any intention of blaming you." She truly had no such thoughts in mind; she was simply teasing the mer. Who would have thought that he would take her words seriously and even explain the entire matter to her?
But this made her feel a bit refreshed. At least Fu Qi Hong was no longer as arrogant as before, when he used to think about no one but himself. At least he had grown a bit considerate, even if it's just for her. Though it was not a big change, Mo Qiang was sure that the mer would one day broaden his horizon and look at everyone with the same gaze.
He would grow more human.
She smiled at the prince, who was more or less like a child when he came to stand in front of her and said, "Don't worry, I will not take such matters to heart without listening to your explanation."
When Fu Qi Hong heard her words, he heaved a sigh of relief. He said, "Then I am glad that I am getting married to you, Madam." He was really worried these days. So worried that he couldn't even eat or sleep in peace. Now that the matter had been cleared up, he was quite relieved.
Seeing that the mer was indeed on the verge of breaking down due to the things that happened, Mo Qiang felt a bit sympathetic. She reached out to hold his hand and said, "If His Highness is not busy, then I would like to fulfil the promise that I made to you."
"Promise? What promise?" It had been so long that Fu Qi Hong had long forgotten about the promise that the two of them had made, but Mo Qiang didn't blame him. She simply pulled the mer along with her where she took him to the small cliff where she usually went when she was in a troubled mood.
It was a hidden place far from the prying eyes and one could see the falling stars with ease.
Fu Qi Hong looked at the numerous stars and sighed with emotions. Because he was a prince, he hardly got such a peaceful moment where he could breath in ease without being riddled by this worry and that.
