As a frequent guest at the Cooper residence, Shannon was welcomed by Julian as soon as the car arrived at the gate. She reached the foyer and saw Benjamin standing at the door, looking like he had anticipated her visit.
An inexplicable feeling brewed inside of her. For some reason, she felt like the golden light surrounding him softened a lot today.
She would be blinded by his golden light whenever she saw him in the past. Tonight, however, his surrounding glow meshed harmoniously with the room lights around him, giving him a soft look.
Under the faint golden light was his handsome face, as if carved by a chisel. He seemed cold, yet there was a subtle warmth in his demeanor, different from when they first met.
The thin line of his lips gently lifted, as if hinting at an imperceptible tenderness. Only his dark eyes remained unchanged—deep, as though they could pull you in.
Shannon stared dazedly at him and slowly let out a smile. Before it curled into a full smile, she realized something was off—she could make out Benjamin's face now.
Indeed, he was still shrouded in golden light, but she could vividly see his face. Another closer look at him, and her expression shifted. She scurried before him and realized the problem once she came in proximity to him.
As expected, her eyesight hadn't magically improved; Benjamin's golden light had faded.
"Come with me." With a solemn look, Shannon decisively grabbed his hand and dragged him upstairs.
Though startled, Benjamin saw her holding his wrist and decided not to struggle, allowing her to pull him up the stairs. Julian was initially stunned, followed by a wave of delight and overwhelming emotions.
Shannon was finally hitting it off with Benjamin! Not only did she drop by at night, but she was also eager to spend private time with him as soon as she entered his home. What a brilliant progress.
