Hank thought his situation was highly similar to Shannon's. At that possibility, he dreaded staying another second in his room.
He still remembered how Cecily had stuffed a doll with blood between his headboard. Who knew what else she had hidden inside his room?
Without hesitation, Hank looked for Shannon. He caught her at the foyer in time, and she was ready to head out.
Standing in the foyer, she listened to him solemnly recounting the incident of missing raw stones and the camera losing signals, but her expression remained calm.
"So, you suspect there's something supernatural in your room. Did your protective emerald pendant react, then?"
Her question made him realize he should've checked it earlier. He quickly pulled out his protective emerald pendant, suspended by a red thread, from under his collar, but the emerald remained clear as ever, just like before.
"It's good as new."
Not only that, but he also hadn't noticed anything strange with it for the last few nights. The only time he removed the emerald pendant was when he showered.
In other words, he wore it during his sleep, and the pendant didn't react.
"So, did I overthink this?" Hank scrunched his brows, doubting himself for a moment.
Shannon glanced at him and narrowed her eyes slightly in deep thought. "Not really."
She continued softly, "Aside from ghosts or supernatural entities, it could be other stuff."
After learning about the details, Shannon had a good guess of what had happened.
She refrained from disclosing it to Hank and proposed, "I suppose it'd return to steal more raw stones. If that's the case, let's wait for it tonight."
