Scott stared wide-eyed at Shannon, dismissing his thought to throw himself into her arms.
It was only then that Hector released him, stepped forward, and casually opened his arms to envelope his sister.
Scott was rendered speechless. Did he forget what he had just advised him? Was it only clingy and immature when he did it?
Ignoring Scott's penetrating stare, Hector appeared calm, as always, and quickly detached from the hug. When he looked at Shannon, whom he hadn't seen in months, his eyes were filled with an undeniable hint of affection.
"Hey, Shannon. I'm finally here."
He didn't mention what he was here for, and it strangely filled her with unease.
Although Hank had mended his relationship with Shannon, he still wasn't as close to her as Hector and Scott. Therefore, he didn't initiate a yearning embrace.
He carried a wooden suitcase, stood still, and nodded at her as a sign of greeting. She reciprocated with a nod and subsequently saw his suitcase, understanding that the Stone Turtle had come along.
Benjamin had remained in his spot from the start. While Shannon reunited with her family, he glanced at Hector before spotting the suitcase in Hank's hand.
His eyelashes fluttered, and it was clear he had sensed the familiar energy inside of it. As if to respond to him, the suitcase suddenly jerked.
Hank almost lost hold of it. He had no idea why the Stone Turtle, which had been obedient during the trip, made such a sudden move.
He simply assumed it was hungry and comforted it, whispering, "Hang on for a little while. I'll feed you once we settle in."
