Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 1841

Seeing Shannon's expression unchanged as she extended her hand, Scott felt his heart sink. He felt a deep sense of guilt and frustration.

With a sigh, he reluctantly reached into his pocket and started rummaging around.

After a moment, he pulled out a bunch of disorganized talismans. They were mostly ones he had pilfered from her over time, a collection of defensive and ghost-busting talismans.

Apart from the one silencing talisman he had already used, the only one that remained capable of affecting an ordinary person was an immobilization talisman.

Shannon sifted through the chaotic stack of talismans, selecting a few, including the immobilization talisman, while leaving the rest untouched. Then, with a faintly amused expression, she slid another talisman into his hand.

"This is a hiccup talisman," she said flatly.

When applied, it would cause a person to hiccup continuously for an hour—more suited for children, really. Still, her expression remained serious as she added, "Don't use it recklessly."

Scott, still nursing his guilt but now visibly relieved, quickly nodded enthusiastically. "Thanks, Shannon!"

Bianca, who had been quietly observing from the side, couldn't help but lean in when she saw the hiccup talisman in Scott's hands. She looked at it with a mix of curiosity and amusement.

"Do you guys in mystic arts teach these kinds of talismans?" she asked, her tone hinting at surprise.

Shannon shook her head. "They don't teach this. I derived it by reverse-engineering the anti-hiccup talisman."

Previously, Thalia had taught her more about techniques for dealing with ghosts and supernatural beings.

However, after entering the mystic school, Shannon found herself learning more basic and everyday kinds of talismans and spells, such as those to stop hiccups, prevent sneezing, and protect a pregnancy.

These were the kinds of things that, once learned, were easy to replicate, but they didn't seem particularly significant.

While working on her coursework, Shannon decided to reverse-engineer some of these spells. To her surprise, many of them turned out to be quite useful.

The best part was that these types of talismans left behind faint traces, so even if someone caught her using them, it wouldn't really be considered a violation.
