"Don't worry. It's only singed without any actual damage."
As if to validate her words, Thalia moved her singed tail a little.
Shannon quickly pressed her down and took out the healing talisman that Elliot had previously stored to help restore her.
Fortunately, as Thalia had said, the tail only looked frightening on the outside, but it wasn't seriously harmed internally. Even so, it still required proper restoration.
Seeing Shannon's grim look, Thalia laughed and added, "Relax. This is nothing. The Divine Power is nothing special, really."
Back then, when she helped the artifacts sever half of their souls to create their replicas, the Divine Power struck even harder—that was when she'd truly lost a tail.
Of course, there was no need to tell her daughter about that.
Compared to her, Thalia was more concerned about Shannon. Though she had just shielded them from the Divine Power's calamity lightning, she had also noticed the unusual happenings.
The thunderfire infused with the power of the phoenix, the fire phoenix wings glowing with golden light, and even a fragment of Hydrath's demonic soul—none of these should have been within Shannon's control.
With that in mind, Thalia voiced her question. "Shannon, why did I sense the power of phoenix in your thunderfire?"
She knew that Shannon had once used phoenix feathers to craft three talismans imbued with the power of the phoenix, but those three talismans had already been used up.
Logically, she shouldn't have been able to call upon its power again without them.
Thalia wasn't the only curious one. Shannon replied, "I'm not so sure either. I was thinking maybe I could block the calamity lightning if I could use a thunder strike infused with the power of phoenix.
"And then, that power just… formed on its own."
