Having just suffered a setback caused by Suzanne, Seline didn't want to speak to her at all. She turned and left the room.
Suzanne returned to her desk, took out her phone, and snapped a photo of the lunchbox to send to Austin. Along with the photo, she texted, "I've received today's food," and sent a cute emoji.
At that moment, Austin was in the CEO's office of Hall Corporation discussing business with several department managers when his phone suddenly buzzed. When it first happened, everyone was shocked. But by now, they were used to it.
Tyler, the manager of the business department, was in the middle of reporting data. He paused briefly when he saw Austin pick up his phone, then calmly continued.
Austin's fingers tapped on the screen as he replied. "Okay."
When Suzanne saw the message, the corners of her lips lifted slightly. She could already picture Austin frowning as he typed his response.
With a soft chuckle, she shook her head and put down her phone.
Upon opening the lunchbox, she was immediately greeted by the delicious aroma of food. She instinctively closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She wasn't that hungry before, but now, her appetite was worked up.
Roasted chicken, green beans, and pumpkin soup. These were simple, home-cooked dishes, but they were all her favorites.
Austin quietly took care of everything without saying a word.
Warmth spread through Suzanne's heart. She picked up her cutlery and began eating.
Maybe it was because of Austin's thoughtful gesture, but her mood was great for the rest of the afternoon at work—until a delivery man appeared at the design department with yet another bouquet of flowers.
Her expression instantly darkened. She didn't even need to guess to know that it was from Jenson. She didn't understand why he was doing this.
Didn't he like Seline? Now, he was blatantly sending her flowers and even signing his name. Was he not afraid that this would affect his career?
