The students continued their discussion:
"The Carter Family members all seem afraid to offend him, especially Ryan."
Selina nodded. Of course. After all, Logan was Ryan’s uncle. And someone like Ryan—who only bullied the weak and feared the strong—would naturally be terrified of Logan.
"I saw it myself last time! Ryan is usually so arrogant, but when Logan visited the Carter Family, he actually went to the door to personally welcome him!"
"Could it be because the Carter Family is wary of Reid Group? Or maybe they’re just forced to cooperate with him?"
Selina narrowed her eyes.
She had already been questioning Logan’s true identity...
"You’re all wrong. It has nothing to do with business matters."
A female voice suddenly spoke up, calm and indifferent:
"Mr. Reid and the Carter Family might actually be related."
The girl who spoke was from the Moore Family—a longtime business partner of the Carter Family. That meant she had access to information that others didn’t.
"My father said that when Logan was a child, he lived at the Carter Family estate for quite some time. Old Mr. Carter doted on him a lot. But then, for some reason, Logan moved out... and even changed his last name."
A wave of shock rippled through the students.
Selina fell into deep thought.
Was she wrong to doubt Logan’s identity?
Could it be that there was nothing suspicious about his background?
The students continued their excited chatter.
"If Logan is really related to the Carter Family, then Natalia just hit the jackpot!"
"Yeah! If she marries Ryan, she’ll be connected to Logan too. So jealous..."
Selina clicked her tongue, snapping out of her thoughts.
So Natalia had found this opportunity, huh?
Trying to climb her way up? In her dreams.
Selina’s eyes gleamed as she pulled out her phone and dialed the driver.
"Take me to Reid Group."
Half an hour later, Selina arrived.
It was her first time visiting Logan’s workplace. Just as she was about to step inside, an unpleasant female voice rang out:
"Some people really have no shame. They know they’re not worthy, yet they still shamelessly cling on."
Selina frowned and glanced at the woman.
She didn’t recognize her.
So she ignored her and kept walking.
But the woman suddenly stepped forward and blocked her path, glaring in disgust. "What, are you deaf? Didn’t you hear me talking to you?"
Selina narrowed her eyes.
Wait... was that insult directed at her?
Who was this woman?
Selina had never been one to tolerate nonsense. She smirked. "Oh, you were talking to me? My bad. I thought it was just some stray dog barking."
"You—!" The woman’s face twisted with anger, but she quickly regained her arrogant demeanor and turned to the receptionist.
"She doesn’t have an appointment. Throw her out."
Selina sneered. In Logan’s own company, someone actually dared to act this arrogant?
She pulled out her phone, ready to call Jack—
"Lucy, don’t be angry. My sister didn’t mean it."
Natalia suddenly jogged over, her expression full of fake guilt.
"Sister, this is Mr. Reid’s secretary, Miss Lucy. This isn’t a place for someone like you. You should leave."
Logan’s secretary... Oh. That explained it.
Lucy’s confidence soared. "Now you get it? Hurry up and leave."
Selina smirked, her tone playful. "Natalia, you know my identity. Is it really strange for me to be here looking for Logan?"
Natalia’s expression froze.
Damn it. Of course she knew that Selina was Mrs. Reid.
But so what?! Mr. Reid was definitely going to abandon this shameless woman sooner or later!
Lucy frowned, eyeing Selina with disdain. "Identity? What identity?"
