Geena saw Nina in awe who was sprinting through the hotel lobby. She couldn’t believe that Nina was in her sixties. Right now, she seemed to be quite active for her age.
Or maybe her anger was pushing her forward.
"Oh, God! Valerie must be in danger," Geena didn’t know how to warn Valerie. Nor was she aware of what stunt she pulled to make Nina this angry.
Nina was trying hard to control the fury simmering inside her chest. She could feel Geena coming after her but couldn’t wait for it anymore.
It was necessary to give the bitch the piece of her mind. What did she exactly think?
Poor Geena wasn’t well practiced in walking fast in her heels, so she did what she thought was right. She took them off as if she were on the beach and carried them in her hand.
Being barefeet was more convenient while running after Nina. Her boss wasn’t even glancing back to acknowledge her presence.
Like come on, lady! I almost saved your day... I mean night... I saved your night when I decided to wake you up in that restaurant. Otherwise, you were planning to spend your night there.
With a snort, Geena tried again, louder this time, "Nina!"
Sigh!
Again, it was a futile attempt.
She huffed in annoyance, her own patience getting thin with each passing minute. She was tired, her feet ached. The night was supposed to take rest, not to chase this spoiled woman who could think of nothing except herself.
On the other hand, she couldn’t bear the guilt of not keeping a check on her boss. She was clearly disturbed and the reason for it was Valerie.
The mighty daughter-in-law of the Sinclair family!
Nina had reached the elevator, jabbing at the button impatiently. Geena was just a few paces behind. Poor little thing was experiencing short, irritated bursts.
Just when the doors of the elevator were about to close after Nina, she squeezed herself inside, trying to catch her breath at the same time.
"Nina! Do you ever listen?" she placed her hand on her chest to comfort her speeding heartbeat.
As expected, Nina seemed to go deaf, so Geena decided to push her luck, "What did you have for dinner? Red Bull?"
Uh-huh. Wrong move!
Nina could hear her. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
For a blink, her eyes moved to her assistant issuing a silent warning. Right now, there wasn’t enough time to do anything about it as Valerie was already occupying her mind.
As the elevator ascended, Geena stood there silently observing Nina. There was tightness in her shoulders, her hands were clenched into fists.
Whatever Valerie had done, she had pushed Nina on the edge.
The moment elevator doors slid open, Nina was off again, hurriedly dashing to her right.
This time Geena felt a little panic building in her gut, "Nina! Where do you think you are going? This isn’t our floor!"
Urgh. Has she gone crazy?
The woman was just being unreasonable here.
She stopped in front of a room and raised her hand to knock on the door. To Geena’s horror, it wasn’t a knock.
The woman began pounding on the door with an urgency that made Geena flinch.
"Valerie!" Nina’s voice boomed through the corridor, "Open the damn door. I know you’re in there."
There was a sharp edge to her voice. Geena was standing there like a block of wood not able to move anymore.
Nina continued thumping on the door, each thud echoed through the corridor. Geena looked around with fear that security staff could kick them out of there.
"Nina! Listen..." she tried placing her hand on her shoulder, but Nina almost roared at her.
"Don’t touch me! Fu*ck off!" she then moved her face back to the door, "Valerie! Are you deaf? Open the damn door, bitch!"
***
After witnessing the intimate moment between Rafael and Marissa, Valerie thought her mind had lost control of all the things happening around her.
She had almost forgotten where she was, with whom she was, and why she was even there in the first place.
She just ran out and hailed a cab to come back to her hotel. She didn’t give a damn what everyone around her must be thinking when she entered her hotel with tears running down her cheeks.
Oh, goodness. They were so close. Every fuc*king move Rafael made near that swimming pool, was a sign that they were sleeping with each other.
What would I do now?
How can Rafael do this to me?
Didn’t he love me?
How can he think that Marissa will make him happier?
How can he even stay near her when she is nothing in looks as compared to Valerie?
And ... and ... he went down on her. What he must be doing there. Kissing? Licking? Sucking?
How dare you, Rafael! How dare you!
No. Not now! I can’t talk to anyone right now.
Oh, God! Nina! I left Nina in the restaurant and now it’s...
