She took a cab home and got off it. Thanks to Ethan who gave her extra cash to help her reach home.
However, the guard didn’t open the gate for her.
"Will you please open the gates?"
The uniformed guard eyed her suspiciously, "Who are you?"
"Excuse me? This is my home, and I need to go inside," She replied haughtily.
The guard looked at her face and opened his tab.
Odd! Her guards never used tabs to check their owner’s faces, "I’m sorry, ma’am."
"It’s ok," she smiled with relief, "you should learn some manners, mister. Now please open the gates. I need to go inside."
The guard started shaking his head, "I’m sorry but I can’t let you in. I have been told that you aren’t the owner."
Valerie frowned and her hand shot to the guard’s collar, "Are you in your senses? If I’m not the owner, then who is?" she was shaking the poor guy brutally while he was trying his best not to touch the woman.
First that insult at the bank and now this!
Someone from behind, held her by her shoulders and peeled her off the guy, "Stop attacking the guards otherwise we’ll call the police."
Valerie watched the other guy who was also wearing the guard’s uniform.
"This is my home, and he isn’t letting me in," her voice raised in rage, "I’m the owner of this house. Call someone from home and let me talk."
"There is no one at home, the owners of this house are in Kanderton. We don’t have orders to open the gates for anyone."
"Yes. I’m Valerie Sinclair and I’m the owner. I just returned from Kanderton," she opened her arms to let them see her, "See? I’m back from Kanderton."
The guard was looking at her as if she had gone crazy.
"You aren’t the owner if you aren’t Marissa Sinclair," the guard told her and asked the previous guard to return to his post.
"Marissa?" she mouthed the forbidden word silently, but the guard made it out.
"Yes, Marissa Sinclair. She is our owner," Valerie thought someone had thrown ice-cold water over her.
Just one week back it was announced, and Marissa had already appointed new guards. Valerie needed to play this one smartly.
Right now, she couldn’t afford to make them angry anymore. She needed her marriage contract, once it would be in her hands, she could take back everything.
So, what if Rafael sold everything to Marissa in peanuts? Valerie knew how to take it back. She would not only submit her marriage certificate she would also ask her parents and servants to become her witnesses.
"Please let me go inside," she joined her palms to plead with him, "My stuff is in there and I need it. How will I survive without it?"
The guard must be feeling sorry for her because he took out his phone and talked to someone in hushed tones, "I’ve asked my owner. According to her, you can take your things. Come on, in."

I was into the story but then the translator who was translating it for whatever language to English stopped translating half the words are half English and another language it's very hard to follow a book when you can't understand what the written word is translators need to do better...
