"What got into you?" Sophie asked her, holding a beer can in her hand. She was here at Marissa’s palace for their movie night.
"I don’t know," Marissa shrugged placing the can on the floor. They were seated on the recliners at the deck, "Geena told me, and I questioned her."
"She is Rafael’s mom, Mar. How can you..." She paused when Marissa raised her finger to stop her.
"I’m already under too much guilt, Sophie. Please..." her voice trailed off. Sophie felt sorry for her.
"Did you try to talk to her again?"
"I did," Marissa exhaled a tired breath, "But she is cordial in the presence of kids. This guilt... I still think Delinda isn’t the one, Sophie. And if it’s true then Rafael’s murderer is still out there ... lurking somewhere."
Sophie tilted her eyebrow in curiosity, "Valerie?"
"Initially, I did believe the same but now I highly doubt it," she rested her head and closed her eyes, "Nina thinks, it’s Valerie. Valerie says it must be Nina..."
"And what does your heart say?" she asked her gently.
It says that Rafael is alive.
"Nothing," she chuckled, "my heart says nothing."
Sophie had a knowing look on her face, "You need to be very careful, Marissa. About the kids especially..."
"The bodyguard stays with them," Marissa gathered her hair and made a messy bun at the top of her head.
"Get a haircut, girl!" the suggestion slipped Sophie’s lips.
"What?"
"I said get a haircut!" she took a chug from the can.
"B...But Rafael liked it..."
Sophie rolled her eyes, "And he isn’t here anymore."
Marissa didn’t utter another word, she closed back her eyes and then smiled.
Sophie groaned, "Now why this smile is giving me the creeps..."
"Sophie," Marissa said keeping her eyes closed, "Do you think that if Rafael will be here... his murderer might get a heart attack?"
"For the love of..." Sophie muttered. Her friend had gone crazy. She always bragged about this silly notion that Rafael might return, and Sophie wanted her to go back to the psychiatrist.
"I know...ok? I know..." Marissa gave her a tightlipped smile, "You are the only one to whom I can show my vulnerable side."
"Hmm. And Dean too,"
Marissa opened her eyes and looked at Sophie who was trying her best to avoid eye contact.
"Look at me, girl. Dean can never take your place..." freēwēbnovel.com
"It’s all crap, Mar. There are people out there who can take my place and who can take Rafael’s place. You just need to let them in."
Marissa got quiet.
Sophie checked her phone and grinned, "Its Joseph."
Marissa wanted to remind her friend that it was supposed to be their movie night and they hadn’t watched any movie yet. She knew what was coming next.
"Mar... umm ... I think..." Sophie was looking for words.
"Go! Make love!" Marissa told her with a gentle smile.
"N-No. It’s not that... actually..."
"Sophie, since when do we both need to explain ourselves to each other? Now get lost."
Come on. Stop thinking negative. I have everyone.

I was into the story but then the translator who was translating it for whatever language to English stopped translating half the words are half English and another language it's very hard to follow a book when you can't understand what the written word is translators need to do better...
