"Are you pregnant?" Nina’s eyes narrowed into thin slits when she saw Sheila’s condition. Sheila tried to smile and shook her head, "It’s due to panic attacks. Since childhood, if I’m mentally disturbed, I used to feel stomach cramps and nausea."

It had been three days since she had been vomiting nonstop. Thanks to Nina who was taking care of Alexander.

"Alexander?" She tried asking Nina but then clamping her hand on her mouth she ran to the bathroom.

"Don’t worry about Alexander," Nina called out after her, "the child is safe!"

Nina was having doubts. What if Sheila was pregnant?

Being a simple woman, Nina couldn’t expect that she would lie.

She went to the butler and asked him about Alexander, "Where is my son Rafael?"

He bent his head a little and pointed to the upper floor, "Closed in that room without any food or drink," he smiled a little, "Just like you asked me to do."

Nina nodded in satisfaction. The poor boy had been in that room for the last three days and used to scream at night.

As a child, he might endure hunger and thirst, but the darkness was lethal for his small brain and heart.

Sheila was already not well, and Miles was being secretly given sleeping pills in his food. Excessive pills could cause serious harm to his health, especially due to the age factor. Nina couldn’t care less.

"Ask our family doctor to visit us. I need Sheila to get treated," Nina told the butler, and he nodded. He could never understand this woman.

On one hand, she was keeping the small boy without any food, water, and electricity while on the other hand, she wanted to take good care of his mom.

Sometimes his heart used to go out for that boy. Daily in the evening, his cries could be heard when he used to call for his mom.

"Mom! It’s dark! Please help me! Take me out of here."

Poor Sheila was fighting with her health. The urge to keep her pregnancy a secret from everyone was getting stronger.

When she carried Alex, her belly didn’t show much for the entire nine-month pregnancy. This time, it was her first trimester so nobody could tell.

However, she couldn’t keep Nina in the dark for long. She wanted to meet her son, but her health wasn’t allowing her to leave the bed.

"Mrs. Sinclair. This is about patient-doctor privacy," Nina regretted calling him. She should have called an amateur who she could convince to let her stay.

"Fine!" she shrugged with a smile and left the room.
