"Miles!" she tried to shake his feeble body, but he was too sleepy to speak. First Sheila thought he had passed away but thankfully he was breathing.
"Miles. Please wake up. You have to help me!" she tried stirring his shoulders a little, and the elderly man could only flutter his eyes and then went back to sleep.
Oh, God. What if Nina had given him something to stay sleepy?
She sat on the floor leaning to Miles’s bed and thought hard. This wasn’t the time to panic. To get out of there, she needed to take Alexander with her and then run for their life.
Fu*ck Shane’s wealth and fu*ck everyone.
Unlike last time she didn’t need to pack her bags. Her only precious thing was Alexander, and she had to handle the situation diplomatically.
Wiping her face, she entered the living room and found Nina and Alex watching TV. Nina was so cunning that she had made Alex sit on the corner of the couch while she was sitting beside him in the middle part of the couch.
Instead of making any issue out of it, she sat beside Nina.
"I’m sorry!" she whispered sniffing her nose, to give the impression that she had been crying. It made Nina turn her head in her direction, "It was rude of me to shout at you, Nina when you were nothing but a good human to me," Sheila kept wiping the tears off her face.
She wanted to give Nina the feeling that Sheila was still gullible and wanted to make peace with it. She was ok to see her son happy with Nina.
Deep down she was scared. There was something extremely wrong with her son. He was too weak as if he was starved to death. His fresh face had lost all the glow and in its place was the face of a very feeble child whose cheekbones were too prominent.
Seated on the other corner of the couch, she was giving subtle glances his way, wishing he would look at her.
Nah! He was eating the popcorn from the bowl quite mechanically.
What did Nina do to him?
Did she give him drugs?
***
It was late at night, and Gabriel was here to collect some of his important documents and then get back to his new place, miles away from here.
In that new house, he had hired a governess who could stay with kids for two days so that he could travel back and forth.
Nobody in Sangua city seemed to feel his absence and he was thankful for that. After locking his house, he was coming out so that he could take a cab when he saw a figure of a woman standing near the main door. Half of her face was hidden behind the shawl.
No, it couldn’t be Nina. This woman was slimmer than her.
"Yes?" he asked with a frown and was shocked when he saw who it was, "Sheila?" he whispered her name.

I was into the story but then the translator who was translating it for whatever language to English stopped translating half the words are half English and another language it's very hard to follow a book when you can't understand what the written word is translators need to do better...
