Aniya’s
eyes fluttered as she felt a little warmth in her limbs. Her head felt heavy,
"Urgh," she groaned in pain. She heard the rustling of fabric before someone
pressed her wrist.
"Hello,
ma’am," a woman’s gentle voice reached her ears, "Thank God, you’re awake. Mr.
Sinclair just went out for a minute, and it seems you were waiting for him to
leave the room. Haha."
Aniya
turned her face slightly, her vision got blurry. She wanted to tell the woman
to shut up because her voice seemed to be pounding inside her head.
The
woman was dressed in a nurse uniform and had a smile on her face, "Let me call,
Sir. He will be quite happy to see you, getting back your consciousness," she
started moving away before Aniya could ask her anything.
Aniya
closed her eyes with a sigh when the door clicked shut. When she opened her
eyes, her gaze shifted around the unfamiliar room.
This
time I’m sure this isn’t a hospital. That antiseptic scent is missing. Instead,
I can feel the smell of ... umm... what is it? Yes. Fresh linen...
And
maybe flowers too.
She
looked at the glass wall that was revealing the lush green sprawling garden.
This
time I think I’m in heaven.
Before
she could think of anything else, the door opened again. The man who came
inside stole the breath out of her lungs.
Daddy?
Her
body tensed as she recognized his face. Before moving to Sangua, Lisa had showed
her the pics of Sinclair family. At that time, none of it sparked any memories.
But
now?
Gosh!
She
could hear her own voice from the past in her head.
Daddy!
I want to run!
Daddy!
I can’t drink milk. It’s yuck!
And
then that familiar warm voice reached her ears, "Hey, princess. It’s good for
your bones. Don’t you want to be strong?"
Just
like you, daddy? She
had asked him.
"Yes.
Just like me, Princess," He had said with a nod before kissing her head and
lifting her in his arms.
All
the past memories kept rushing back to her.
For
a fleeting second, she wasn’t here in this room, but she had transformed back
into that child who used to throw tantrums at her daddy.
The
man’s deep voice pulled her back to reality, "Thank God you are awake.
Otherwise, the doctor had asked me to take you to the emergency, if you don’t
get consciousness before morning," she could sense the relief in his voice.
He
still had the same aura, the same striking presence that was there so many
years ago.
Time
had barely touched him except those few strands of silver hair near his
temples.
But
there was something else. He didn’t seem to know who she was. Why they all were
acting like that?
Why
couldn’t they recognize her? Mommy kept staring at her in that boutique. And
now daddy was acting like her face didn’t strike a chord from his past.
She
at last parted her lips to speak, "Where am I?"
"You’re
safe," he assured her and took a chair nearby, "let me know if you are feeling
any headache or pain anywhere. I’ve got instruction from my family doctor to
keep a close eye on you."
She
swallowed, trying to calm the emotions rising within her, "How did I get here?"
He
was watching her face carefully, "You were running in the hotel lobby and there
was no one near by. I was there to have breakfast with friends but then I had
to bring you here to my place. I’m sorry but I didn’t have any option."
Aniya
didn’t know how to express her feelings. He carried her again? To bring her
home? Just he used to do when she was little?
Was
she home?
At
last?
"M...
my friends must be getting worried," she looked around, searching for
something. He was on his toes at once.
"What
is it? Do you want something?" he followed her gaze to see if there was
something he could help her with.
"M...my
phone..."
He
curved down his lips with a faint smile, "You weren’t carrying one, miss..." he
trailed off, expecting her to complete it, "By the way, I’m Rafael Sinclair and
I live here with my wife who needed to attend her office meetings in Sangua
office of our company. Now tell me who you are. I can inform your parents if
that’s what bothering you."
He
Like
I know it’s healthy but why to feed it every time to a patient?

I was into the story but then the translator who was translating it for whatever language to English stopped translating half the words are half English and another language it's very hard to follow a book when you can't understand what the written word is translators need to do better...
