Nadine found the situation almost laughable.
Brad couldn't even bring himself to say "I'm sorry", and yet he claimed to have apologized. What kind of apology was this?
Not only was there a complete lack of sincerity, but there was also an air of condescension in his tone. What was supposed to be an apology felt more like a charity gesture.
What she hated most was his high-handed attitude.
If it weren't for the fact that she couldn't beat him, she would have given him a good beating by now.
Brad scoffed at the anger in Nadine's eyes. His disdain was evident as he clicked his tongue. "The pride of the poor is always so absurd. Gifts are a sign of sincerity! Take it or leave it!"
If this kept up, Nadine would surely drive him insane. To prevent himself from killing her, he decided to leave for a while before he really did snap.
Ignoring Nadine's glare, he shoved the gift box into her arms without even looking at her. After that, he turned and walked away.
No matter how much she called after him, he didn't stop.
Only after Brad's figure disappeared around the corner did Nadine mutter a curse under her breath.
Fuming, she picked up the exquisitely wrapped gift box. "Who cares about your stupid gift?"
She hadn't intended to look at what was inside, but a casual glance revealed something alarming. The set of jewelry was strikingly similar to the one Jean had shown on Instagram.
It wasn't an exact match, but it was at least 99% similar.
Fearing she might be unfairly accusing Brad, she quickly found the Instagram photo of Jean's jewelry.
