Instead, Nadine heard Gigi's piercing scream. "Ah!"
Then came the sound of chaotic footsteps.
The commotion surged like a tidal wave, overwhelming her senses.
"Quick! Mr. Hamilton is injured! We need to bandage his wound immediately!"
"Take Ms. Hamilton to the back mountain for a time-out and wait for Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton's instructions!"
"No! Don't touch me! I want to see my mom! Let me go!"
"Don't let her go! Lock her up on the back mountain!"
"Brad, I'm your sister! You can't treat me like this! She cheated on you, yet you still treat her as a treasure!"
"Take her away!"
"Yes! Mr. Hamilton, please sit down. Let me see your wound!"
As the chaos subsided, Nadine's senses gradually returned.
Though she couldn't piece together everything that had happened, she could clearly see the gash on Brad's hand.
Bright red blood was trickling down his hand. It was a deeply unsettling sight.
The knife Gigi had been wielding was now discarded on the floor, its blade stained with blood.
As a nurse, Nadine was highly sensitive to the sight of blood. Seeing Brad injured, she gently placed Sean down and dashed into the bedroom to grab the first aid kit.
She then hurried back to Brad's side and knelt down to tend to his wound.
The injury was on his uninjured hand.
His hands were normally elegant, with fair skin, slender fingers, and distinct joints. Now, a gash about seven centimeters long marred his hand. It looked stark and alarming.
Nadine worked swiftly to stop the bleeding, disinfect the wound, and bandage it.
