One of the reasons Nadine chose to be a nurse was because of the working hours. She could send Sean to school and pick him up on time. Thus, she had never considered resigning even when things got hectic.

Adam had advised her numerous times to work in a more relaxing environment, but she politely refused every time.

She liked how things were now. When work got busy, she had no time to think about other stuff. She enjoyed how she could look after Sean before and after work. As for Brad, she had moved on from him and deemed him as another person she used to know.

While Nadine prepared the medications for the next day, Tyler appeared in her sight. The bruises on his face remained visible, and so did the clot in the corner of his lips. He limped as he walked, a sharp contrast to his usual graceful demeanor.

When she saw him, she was momentarily dazed and quickly lowered her gaze.

Recalling the incident in the storage room where he forced himself on her, she couldn't imagine what would transpire had Brad not appeared in time. Since that experience, she felt more hostile to Tyler and didn't want to see him.

Sensing her reluctance to see him, Tyler quickly apologized. "Nad, I'm so sorry. It was my fault. I was impulsive that day that I… I… I'm sorry! Here, hit me, scold me. Whatever you do, please just don't ignore me."

Nadine didn't want to be the butt of everyone's jokes since they were at her workstation during working hours. As such, she rose and sternly said, "Come with me!"
